Burraga Joe Anderson aka King Burraga was an Aboriginal rights activist in the 1920’s and 1930s who was traditionally from Botany Bay. His family resided in the Sans Souci/Kogarah/Hurstville area for many decades and was actively involved in Aboriginal rights campaigns that led to the Day of Mourning event and 1930’s petition to the King.
