Visited Mantra after staying at Peppers last year. We chose the Mantra due to having a full kitchen. The hotel is nice enough, but is due for an update and upgrade. There was a few things in our room that needed attention, but there staff were very helpful and accommodating. A special shoutout to the manager Dean who rang and followed up with us the next day to make sure these issues had been sorted out which was great customer service. Perfect for a relaxed affordable holiday.

Beautiful pool with waterfalls and plenty of shade with very comfortable beach chairs. The restaurants just 5 minutes walk away. There is nothing to do just relax and eat. We have come every December for the last 4 years. Loved it. We booked 2 rooms. We got the keys to one room at 10am and the keys to the other room at midday, thats amazing. The staff are very helpful from the check in staff to the cleaners. There is pool service on the weekends

Paid extra for the ocean view room, but all we got was a tree view. Description should be updated accordingly. Room was above the Salt Bistro, so it was loud at night then we were woken early (4am) to vacuum cleaning below. Not what I expected from Mantra. On a positive note, room was spacious and the resort pool was amazing and the hotel is so close to the beach. Loved having all the restaurants close by too.

Pros: Pool facilities were enjoyable, nearby beach was nice for a walk. Bathroom seemed more modern than the other rooms. Reception area is nice and free underground parking. Cons: Room smelled very musty, we found two lighters jammed into the washing machine (?) and some rubbish behind the bedside tables. Tables hadn’t been wiped down, with crumbs and fingerprints. Outside loungers were extremely uncomfortable. Fan very noisy - only source of air conditioning for the bedroom was from the living area/kitchen. Outside of sink dirty, giant moth in bathroom. Decor dated. Overall I wouldn’t return as I didn’t feel fully comfortable in the room.

The entry foyer is very appealing with its view onto the large pool area. However, that is where the good ends - the building interior is in urgent need of a good clean, fresh paint, new carpets and general overhaul. Room was in definite need of a good clean and fumigation to eliminate bed bugs. When reported was offered alternate rooms - one of which reeked of urine!
