The new renovation is superb with so many seating areas. Even though the food looked fabulous on the menu, I think they need a bit more experience with their flavours. I had the burrata cheese but the flavours and the serving were all wrong! My friend had the smoked Barra and it also had was not done right, the idea and description didn’t quite add up to flavour. But it won’t put me off going and trying other dishes :)

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Came in for a quick drink and ended up having one of the best nights I’ve had in ages. The absolute legend behind the bar (you know who you are 😉) delivered next-level service — fast hands, perfect pours, and somehow remembered everyone’s order like he’s running the Matrix. Atmosphere? Spot on. Drinks? Dangerous in the best way. Service? You’ll feel like royalty. If you want a spot where good vibes, great drinks, and elite hospitality collide, this is it. Become a regular. You won’t regret it.

Just visited the Palace Hotel for the first time since they finished the renovations. The front bar, where we had dinner (and participated in the Wednesday night trivia night) is vastly improved. I also ducked upstairs to have a look at Josephine’s Lounge which looks like a very agreeable place to have a drink. The staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely be going back.

Absolutely amazing service from the moment we walked in to the bistro and greeted and seated by Will who I'm guessing was a manager. Then to ordering food and drinks and we were served by James at the bistro bar, who took our order and nothing was a trouble and absolutely amazing friendly service. Also Will checked in a few times and made sure our meals were all going well and good, and even went and got us some extra sauces at no trouble or hesitation when we asked. And both Will and James were definitely well dressed and absolutely amazing service from start to finish. Absolutely recommended to fo to the Palace Hotel. Especially is you are served and looked after by Will and James. Thank you so much. We will definitely be coming back for the delicious food plus the absolutely amazing service and well looked after and clean venue.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was absolutely perfect — a beautiful blend of the restaurant’s original character and the elegance of its recent renovations. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, with just the right mix of charm and sophistication. Our server, Isaac, truly made the evening exceptional. His customer service was outstanding — attentive without ever being intrusive. He checked in regularly to make sure everything was just right and ensured our glasses were never empty. It’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism and friendliness so effortlessly, but Isaac nailed it. The combination of great food, an inviting atmosphere, and Isaac’s top-tier service made for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a spot that’s both classy and comfortable!
