We indulged in a delightful dining experience featuring Galloway beef at Butcher & Vine. Our meal included: - Wet-aged Galloway beef eye fillet with a side of mushroom - A classic Caesar salad made with Cos lettuce, dressing, anchovies, and a soft egg Our experience at Butcher & Vine was truly exceptional. The quality of the Galloway beef was evident in every bite, perfectly complemented by the rich flavors of the mushroom accompaniment. The Caesar salad was a refreshing and well-balanced starter, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients and the skillful preparation. Overall, Butcher & Vine exceeded our expectations, delivering a memorable dining experience that celebrated the essence of fine dining.

This is a spacious and impressive venue, but regrettably, the food doesn't quite live up to the ambiance. We initially had high hopes for a great steak, but our experience took an unexpected turn when we ordered the fresh sliced charcuterie to start. It sounded promising, but it turned out they had prepared them in advance, leaving them as dry as sandpaper. After requesting a correction, the situation didn't improve, and the slices remained dry. It seems like they might have issues with storage and slicing techniques. Despite the charcuterie hiccup, the steak turned out to be a highlight, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, it seems that this place could benefit from better kitchen staff training in the preparation and presentation of their dishes

My husband and I came in to Butcher and Vine for the first time tonight and we were blown away! Eliza was our server and she was so polite and helpful! The food was phenomenal and well priced for the amount and quality you get. I’ve personally worked in steak/wine restaurants for years and they definitely know what they’re doing. Their non-alcoholic Collin’s drink was spot on and their wine pairing to our rib eye steaks. Hats off to the owners, FOH staff and BOH staff! We will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to everyone!

This place is up there with some of the best steak houses I've been to. Tried a few different starters and mains and was amazing! Would definitely recommend this place. Great service and good portions of food along with a lovely atmosphere. This place is a must try. Will be back

We decided to visit here for lunch a few weeks back. Upon arrival it was very quiet, however that meant we got lots of attention from the staff so could not fault service. We shared the pork ribs which were nice, tender but the sauce lacked a depth that we have had at other Melbourne Steak venues. The stand-out for us was the Cheese burger, they could close tomorrow and open a burger joint just off the back of this one burger, easily the tastiest burger we have had for quite a while. The steak was cooked nicely to medium-rare and well rested, we chose a mushroom sauce which was unique and seemed in-house made and coupled very well with the steak. Are we going to rush back no, but we enjoyed everything enough to know that we will definitely go back for more.
