Amazing first experience when we walked in for post-dinner cocktails on a Friday a few weeks ago. Great vibe and ambiance. We had a great time that night. The friendly bartender was chatty and happy to recommend cocktails plus a great dj playing awesome tunes. The bartender recommended we return for dinner on a Monday for their set menu and we did tonight. What an overall lacklustre experience and so disappointing to spend more than $130 on a Monday for this. Oysters were good and fun for $2/each. But we didn’t realise that with the set menu for $40 each, it was basically a slice of bread each (which was tasty), a few thin slice of pumpkin to share, ONE piece of steak and 4 onion rings to share between 2 and a bowl of radicchio to share. We left feeling not full but okay and just underwhelmed. We ordered drinks and I think they forgot to put the order through as we had to ask after the oysters and bread arrived. No apology but did let us know drinks were on the way. All fine. We were still happy to have Monday date night. After we finished the steak, remembered we also ordered kingfish crudo which didn’t arrive. They did put it through, the kitchen just didn’t send it out. Apology here and took it off the bill. We were so underwhelmed and confused by the whole experience that I forgot that we spontaneously decided to dine on a Monday because I received a 20% discount on food in my email. Totally my fault but disappointed that the experience was so lacklustre that we probably won’t come back to use that voucher within the next two weeks. Ah well.

Cozy atmosphere, creative (and delicious) drinks, delicious food, attentive service, and great tunes on the decks! What’s not to love?! Henry Sugar checked ALL of the boxes. We went for a little celebration drink at opening on a Friday evening after finding this spot on google maps. We’re originally only going to try a bite but the Chef’s menu looked intriguing so we gave it a shot. I’m glad we did because it was delightful. Started off with the oysters and they were super fresh. Ended up getting a second order because they were so good. The focaccia was super airy and tasted so good with the vegemite butter. Lamb fritters were crispy on the outside and super tender and tasteful on the inside. I’m a huge fan of good mussels and these did not disappoint at all! The butter that came with it was great but honestly wasn’t even needed with how great they were. We considered upgrading to the steak but stuck with the duck. I’m actually glad we did because this is one of the two best duck servings I’ve ever had. Absolutely spot on with the tenderness and had an incredibly flavourful crispy skin. I’m typically not even a desert fan but the tart was perfect. I may need to create a new post dedicated specifically to the cocktails because they were INSANELY good. Awesome balance and super creative. We went with the House martini and the plumb wine highball. One of the best little date spots in the area!

We had a booking in the private room for a birthday and I just wanted to say thank you so much. The service was fantastic - I don’t remember the names of our servers but they were so lovely. Very attentive and accommodating - we have some elderly parents and some young children and they were great. The food was lovely, highly recommend !

Amazing food and great staff. Love the oysters and Negroni and their Beetroot manhattan too!! Highly recommended especially for after work drinks.
