If I could rate the reception with zero stars, I certainly would. The experience at the reception desk was unpleasant and intimidating. Despite booking a room with a spa and ocean view five days in advance, we received a call around 2pm informing us that the spa room was no longer available. Instead, we were offered a twin room as the only option. This unexpected change significantly affected our experience and left us feeling disappointed. The receptionist, whom I believe was named Selina, offered only a mere $30 reduction in the room price, which hardly seemed adequate considering the downgrade in accommodation. What's more, she rushed us to make a decision about whether to cancel the room, without giving us adequate time to process the situation. Her demeanor seemed very inconvenienced, and the unwelcoming feeling she gave us made me feel really uncomfortable. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, the attitude and handling of the situation by the staff were completely unacceptable. This experience has certainly soured my impression of the hotel.

Great room overlooking the river. Conveniently located a five minute walk to the main shops and restaurants, the main beach. It’s a perfect spot to use as your base for the great ocean road area. The heated pool was a lovely warm temperature, the spa is the same temp so it is children friendly. The resort also has a great outdoor area with a bar/kiosk to chill out. It also had live music which was excellent. We also tried the onsite restaurant “the coast” amazing food.

I think this hotel/resort represents incredible value. Our room was very clean, spacious and well appointed. We had all that we needed. The outdoor area at the rear of the property, teamed with the tennis court and trampolines was beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here and would absolutely return. Location is perfect, with supermarket (IGA), cafes and restaurants within walking distance. And do yourself a favour and get up early and go watch the sunrise over the ocean at the lookout just 10-15 min walk away. You will not be disappointed. We loved our time in Anglesea and at The GORR.

For $300 a night, this is quite disappointing. You can get airbnb or big 4 campsite cabin for cheaper and better experience. PROs: Decent TV Good amenities (when not crowded) Good location(5 mins walk from the lake, shops and close to the beach) Cons: Terrible Sleep experience(bad quality pillows and mattresses, noise from other rooms) Lack of onsite Parking(You will have to park off-premise if there's an event going on) Old/Broken parts can be found in cabinet, bathroom etc...

This will be taken down by the owner or past off as a disgruntled guest. Rooms very close together and very loud. The couch and bed very uncomfortable and room very dusty. Staff were lovely upon check in yet when presented with any issues were not able to handle the problem. We got accused as being “intimidating” which is simply not true. Ended up leaving the region as a result. Such a shame. I strongly suggest an alternative to this venue.
