The Gem Bar is a true Collingwood local and has remained true to its Americana aesthetic since opening for business in 2006. With its wooden honkytonk interior, ranch-style furniture, and shrines to the memory of the late Elvis Presley, not only does it capture the warmth and friendly feel of a Southern American bar, it's married authentic Texas Barbecue with a range of delicious vegetarian dishes creating a truly unique Melbourne food experience. For large functions, we would recommend you hire the whole upstairs area which consists of the West, Ship and upstairs and Elvis bar as one space. Depending on what you spend on food you can use the rest of your minimum spend on a bar tab for your guests. Soft drinks, beer, cider or wine are all available. If you prefer a cocktail we can also tailor, it into the mix for you. Once that bar tab run out your guest are welcome to buy from the bar or you can add extra money to the tab if you wish. Our staff will let you know when your tab is getting to its end.

Firstly, contact the VenueNow team by submitting an enquiry or speaking to one of our team members online or over the phone. We'll need to collect a few details from you, such as your: - Event type - Number of people attending - Preferred event date & time (and if this is flexible) - Budget (per person or total) - Room layout - Food and beverage / catering requirements - Any other requirements Once we've gathered these details, the VenueNow team will contact the team at The Gem Bar to check: 1) Can they host the event on your preferred date / time? If not, what are some alternate dates / times? 2) What is the estimated cost based on your event requirements? This process tends to take around 1 business day on average to receive a response from the venue. Once we've received a response, the VenueNow team will contact you as soon as possible. If you're happy with the proposed price and dates / times, the VenueNow team will connect you with The Gem Bar to finalise your booking (which may include a site visit if you choose to do so). For large functions, recommend you hire the whole upstairs area, consisting of the West, Ship, and upstairs and Elvis bar as one space. This canapé and drinks package will accommodate up to 70 people standing. The minimum spends for the upstairs hire is $3,000 including beverages and food.
