Honkas Bar and Eats opened in July 2018, the site of the old Favela / The Village. Part of the Kings Cross precinct once a buzzing club scene, the area has gentrified following changes to Sydney's lock out laws. The area is becoming a thriving dining + small bar precinct. Taking inspiration from the street vendors of Asia, Honkas menu has a balance of clean, fresh, healthy dishes mixed with irresistible cheat food, oh and we only serve brown rice. Natural tones and mediums are used throughout the venue whilst the occasional use of signature pink highlights key pieces. Enter Honka's through its imposing copper doors, be guided to the heart of the venue by an oversized Asian loom to the left, and denim wall to the right. From here the space opens into a multi-layered venue where each element tempts you to discover more, all of which overlook the central courtyard. The private event space of Honkas is the ideal way to host your next special event — whether it's a casual dinner party, a family gathering, an engagement party, or holiday cocktail party. The three unique event spaces can accommodate groups of 10 up to 150 people in varying configuration.
