We come here most Fridays and its always a great time! Great music, friendly staff and good food. The views are amazing, right on the river. During the winter they provide gas heaters & Milun was super helpful to make sure we were nice and warm. Definitely one of the best bars in Brisbane if you are visiting!
Riverland delivers one of the most effortless and bottomless brunch experiences in Brisbane. The riverside setting instantly sets the tone, but it’s the build-your-own taco station and flowing drinks that really make it stand out. Everything feels relaxed but well thought out, from the fresh toppings bar to the generous dessert to finish. The two-hour seating is paced perfectly, making it ideal for long catch-ups or weekend celebrations. If you’re after something fun, social, and scenic without feeling rushed, this is an easy Brisbane favourite.
OVERVIEW Riverland is a super cool waterfront venue with seating overlooking the river, just a five-minute walk from the Riverside ferry terminal. SERVICE Even though only one bar counter was open while the two at the front were closed, we used the ordering app and it was a breeze. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful, and I couldn’t believe how quick the service was. Our drinks arrived within minutes, and the food followed shortly after. Waiting time for both drinks and meals was under 10 minutes, which was seriously impressive. FOOD We ordered souvlaki chicken for $25 and fish and chips for $31. Both meals were delicious, nicely prepared and attractively presented on smart white crockery. Everything was fresh and tasty and the serving sizes were generous. My fish was tender and succulent, served with crispy chips, a wholesome salad, tartar sauce and a slice of lemon for extra flavour. The souvlaki chicken was equally enjoyable. While the chicken portion itself was smaller, the chips, pita bread and vegetables made it a satisfying and filling meal. AMBIENCE Riverland is a large outdoor venue with plenty of different dining areas, some offering great views directly over the river with the Story Bridge in the background. The seating is mixed, with regular wooden tables and chairs as well as high bar-style tables and stools. It would be fantastic on a warm spring or summer evening, but less ideal on chilly autumn or winter nights. We visited at the end of April just as the weather was getting cooler, but luckily we managed to snare the best table in the place directly under a heater. The ambience was relaxed, casual and laid back. Even on a weeknight, there was still a good crowd, creating a fun and lively vibe. COST Our bill for the evening came to a hefty $90 for a pint of lager, a cocktail and two fairly modest meals from the cheaper end of the menu. Sadly, that’s becoming the reality of dining out in Australia after years of Labor’s hyperinflationary economic policies. It’s not the venues themselves that are to blame, but it means that eating out is now becoming more of an occasional treat for seniors and others on fixed incomes, rather than a weekly outing as it once was. Weekend or public holiday dining, when an extra 15% surcharge is added to cover wage costs, is now a complete no-no for us. SUMMARY We had a fab evening at Riverland and everything ran smoothly. There were plenty of available tables, so our booking wasn’t necessary. We grabbed the warmest spot in the venue directly beneath the heaters, which worked out perfectly. The food was excellent, the service outstanding, and the vibe relaxed and laid back in a scenic riverside location with beautiful views of the river and bridge. Easy access from the Riverside ferry terminal makes it even more convenient, and there are ample clean and well stocked toilets. MEMO This is the reassuring message displayed on AVC’s website (the owner of this venue), alongside the now almost obligatory acknowledgement that we are all supposedly standing on somebody else’s land: “We are a place free from discrimination, where everyone belongs. We respect and celebrate the diversity of our communities, including people of all cultural and faith backgrounds, classes, gender or sexual identities, ages and abilities and we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for all.” Which makes you wonder what problem these statements are actually solving. Most customers already assume that in 2026, everyone is welcome at a pub unless proven otherwise. Personally, I find this kind of corporate messaging highly irritating, unecessary, insulting and patronising to loyal patrons. Most people visiting places like this, are simply after useful information, decent food, good service, fair prices and a fun night out - not a lecture in corporate virtue signalling.
If your having a drink after work or having a family celebration. This place always has fast and friendly service. Great food and the location is just perfect.
Friends of mine had a small wedding reception at Riverlands 23rd Dec '25', Up stairs over looking the river. Was a beautiful view! Tom and Liam, our 2 bartenders for the night, were great, keeping us all well hydrated hehehe. We had a little problem with one human not understanding that it was a private function, but the boys were right on it, helping us out. Thank you for the great night! It definitely made the wedding extra special
