Fortitude Valley is home to many great bars and Greaser Bar had long been one of the most interesting. The York Suites

On the top level, The Yorke Suites are for music makers and related creatives.

Anyone who grew up loving music in Brisbane will know (and miss) the legend that was Mr Ritchie Yorke. He was the music editor at The Courier Mail for, well, forever.

One of Australia’s first international rock journalists, he was mates (yes, real mates) with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Led Zepplin and Van Morrison and he nurtured Australia’s rise to musical maturity over his 73 years. He died in February 2017 and is missed.

In tribute, The Yorke Suites feature on level three at The Prince Consort. A music district of XX offices (the former accommodation rooms), now home to recording studios, music labels, rehearsals spaces, promoters and artists.
