Service was friendly and welcoming and facilities were well maintained. The room was clean and the bed really comfortable and quite. Food at breakfast buffet was well presented and of high quality and coffee ordered was made consistently well. Great location if you are looking to relax or play a round of golf with no. of restaurants in sanctuary cove and Hope Island Shopping Centre just up the road within walking distance if required
I guess my standards for Intercontinental hotels are too high but I had a lot of mixed emotions about this hotel. The long paved driveway in and entrance was spectacular. Check in was efficient and the initial bell service was very good. The rooms are nice and large as well. Location wise was very good for us as I was playing golf at the golf club. The vicinity to the Marina village was very good as well. Overall the staff were very good and very helpful. The breakfast selection was also good, even though we stayed 4 days were weren’t bored of it. Looking closer at the venue was it was getting a bit tired. It can do with a lot of maintenance, especially the rooms. The biggest negative was the inconsistent housekeeping. Some days the rooms were cleaned well, others were very ordinary. At the start of our stay, we noticed dirty laundry being left near the staircase over several days and the fact that our bins inside the room were never emptied, resulted in my score. It can be a fantastic resort but the overall attention to detail needs to reflect the 5 star hotel rating.
The resort itself is bit dated and this is especially noticeable in the rooms. Nonetheless, the room was clean and everything was in working order. We had a room overlooking the marina and pool. Loved the greenery around and the highlight was seeing the wild kangaroos that would come out each afternoon. It was also a very short walk to restaurants and cafes which was amazing. Parking is also free, just a short walk from the reception area. Pool area is also pretty good. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will recommend.
We have just returned from 3 nights at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove. Each time we stay there, the last was our fourth stay, we are so impressed. Every element of the hotel is wonderfully thought out and delivered by staff with effortless professionalism. As IHG members we enjoy the wonderful ambassador program benefits that are well and truly worth the yearly membership. Huge thank you to Cedric, Food and Beverage Manager and his team for above and beyond service and delicious breakfasts and dinners!
Had my 60th birthday here. They allowed my daughter in early to decorate it and left a complimentary bottle of bubbles with card - a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend for weekend getaway, suitable for families too. We are local to the Gold Coast but we felt like we were in another world. Such beautiful grounds to wander and see kangaroos happy in the same environment. Wake up to the sounds of birds, so peaceful. Look forward to coming back here sometime.
