I am from Melbourne and have not visited the Gold Coast for over 7 years, I was very much looking forward at staying at Soul Peppers simply because it looked phenomenal! We stayed for 6 nights and booked a 3 bedroom ocean view “serviced apartment”…this apartment was hardly serviced. The “daily apartment cleaning” was only making the beds. The towels were not changed ( I know this because I got makeup on one of my towels and the towel was simply folded and put back in the bathrooms) the same towels were folded and placed in the bathrooms, no fresh towels were given, the toilets weren’t cleaned properly, the bed sheets were not changed throughout our stay and the living area was never fixed or cleaned. It was a disappointment! The beds are NOT COMFORTABLE and the furniture is VERY outdated and dirty, it had staines on most seats. The in house Foxtel control did not work. Our stay included a complimentary breakfast buffet, which was very simple, not much variety. The lifts took forever to come, at one time we waited almost 15 minutes. The pool, the steam room and sauna on the other hand are really good. Although no towels are ever kept there, you need to take your own towel. The location of the hotel is the only thing that is fantastic because it’s only 100m from the beach. Overall very overpriced for what it’s worth, it’s not the 5 star standard and honestly I will not be staying here again.
I have to be honest here, before arriving at Peppers Soul I was getting a little nervous about our stay because of reviews I was reading online…Im so glad I ignored them and continued with our booking! I feel bad because i feel like those who have had a negative experience are more apt to fill out a review and those of us who had amazing experiences aren’t. I truly can’t list one negative thing about our entire stay. Check-in: we arrived early and our room was ready. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming. On arrival to our room, a staff member came with a complimentary bottle of wine and adorable box of chocolates to welcome us. Room: we stayed in room 5505. Just wow!!!! It was a three bedroom, 2 bath suite facing the north so we had complete views of the ocean as well as the mountains. Very clean and the furniture was not outdated. Kitchen was well stocked and there was a washer and dryer which was supplied with laundry detergent which we greatly appreciated so we could freshen up our clothes before moving on with our holiday. Housekeeping: so sweet!! We were there for 4 nights so you don’t get a FULL refresh which basically means they don’t clean your floors. They still came everyday and empty the rubbish bins, made the beds, cleaned the bathroom and left fresh towels. I noticed complaints about them coming later in the afternoon. Well of course they do because with such a huge building and needing to be ready for the new guests checking in, they need to get to those rooms first. They were to us every day by 3pm. We called downstairs the first day asking for some more face clothes and they were brought up to us within 5 minutes. Elevators: I noticed complaints about long waits for the elevators. Yes, there are 3 for the higher floors but we never waited longer than a minute. The only time we requested an elevator and someone was on it and we couldn’t fit was when we were checking out because it was check out time and everyone else was as well. We just hit the button again and another elevator came within 45 seconds. Pool Area: GORGEOUS!!!! They have both an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. We only went to the outdoor pool though and it was incredible! You are looking right at the ocean! I guess the one negative was that we tried to order cocktails from the pool bar but the very nice girl said that they hadn’t received their shipment so we were basically limited to beer and a small selection of wine. Location, location, location: THE BEST IN SURFERS!!! You truly can’t beat this location. Beach RIGHT there, shops, restaurants, the tram a short walk. Thank you Peppers Soul for an incredible holiday! We will most definitely be back!
Hello, I just wanted to share our family’s wonderful experience at Peppers Soul. We truly enjoyed our time there and found it to be quite special. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Our apartment, with its beautiful views of Surfers Beach coast from the balcony, was absolutely lovely. The daily housekeeping service was much appreciated, and the hotel pools suited all ages perfectly. The location was very convenient, being close to many attractions, and we would definitely consider staying here again in the future. Additionally, the short drive to the theme parks was a real highlight for the kids, especially for my niece. Thank you to everyone at Peppers Soul Paradise for helping make our holiday a truly memorable trip.
First time starting at Soul and will definitely will return. Check in staff, Aleksandra was very helpful and friendly. Apologies if I spelled the name incorrectly. The room was spacious, ample amenities, with washer and dryer. The rooms were clean and the pillows were decent (with lots to spare). We've had good night rests, which is uncommon at most accommodations. Soul has nice indoor and outdoor pools, spa, sauna and steam rooms. The beach is just outside the hotel with restaurants everywhere.
Disappointing experience from start to finish. The issues began at check-in, which was unnecessarily lengthy. During the middle of my check-in process, the receptionist assisting me left to attend to another guest's room issue, despite that guest already being assisted by a different receptionist. As an Accor Gold member, this left me feeling overlooked and undervalued from the outset. The breakfast experience was also poor. The offering was very limited and did not justify the premium price being charged. The quality and variety fell well below expectations for a property of this standard. The most concerning issue occurred after check-out. We arrived late on Friday evening and, as we had activities planned throughout Saturday for my fiancée's birthday celebrations, we did not spend time on the balcony until Saturday afternoon. When we finally went outside, we discovered that the balcony had not been properly cleaned and contained items left behind by previous guests, including underwear, cigarette ash and other debris. Given the condition of the balcony, we did not use it at any stage during the remainder of our stay. At check-out, I politely raised these concerns with reception and provided photographic evidence of the balcony's condition. Despite doing so, I later received an email accusing our group of smoking on the balcony and advising that a $200 cleaning fee had already been charged to my card. After I provided the same photographs and reminded the hotel that the issue had been reported at check-out, management agreed to refund the charge. However, the fact that the charge was processed in the first place without properly investigating the situation was extremely disappointing. The response also stated that the refund was being provided "in good faith", despite the evidence clearly showing that the balcony had been left in that condition before our arrival. Having funds removed from my account and then being required to provide banking details to recover them added further inconvenience to an already frustrating experience. While I appreciate that the hotel ultimately reversed the charge, the combination of the check-in experience, poor breakfast offering, cleanliness concerns, and the handling of the false smoking allegation left a very poor impression. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet the standards I would expect from either Peppers or Accor.
