Check in was seamless, and the front desk staff member was most helpful and friendly. A common theme when I had reason to seek assistance from the front desk. The room was spacious and well appointed. Ideal location for R Adelaide Hospital and various university off main campus sites. Dinner was very good with an adequate selection of food and beverages, served by most efficient group of young Columbian women. A good range or selection for breakfast buffet as well. Check out was as seamless as check in.
Took us over an hour to check in because they only had 1 staff member on for one of the busiest Saturdays in adelaide! The room was warm and the air con didn't seem like it could keep up, may be due to all the sludge on the outside part of the unit.. Also the tiniest amount of milk for a coffee in the morning, wasn't even enough for 1 person let alone 2
I have mixed feelings about my stay. Firstly I’d like to say the reception staff I dealt with each day were nothing short of great. Friendly smiles, not robotic and had a problem solving - customer focused attitude. Really appreciated their service and help. The location - well it depends what you are after, it’s just on the edge of the bar and club scene, but it’s at the quiet end. I usually stay at the other end of Rundle mall which felt a bit safer to walk around. When I came home from a wedding at 11:30pm there was a girl passed out on the front steps. Wasn’t nice. The first room I was put in was huge, nice balcony, but…. It was very dated. And dirty. The edges of fridge, hand prints and body prints on the windows and doors, stray hairs on the bedding and it smelt of mould from the corner spa I think that was exposed to the room. They moved me - and were great about it - but the second bedroom also had much of the same, dirty cutlery, the sink was blocked in bathroom, the pillow case was ripped and had a hole in it, hairs in bed, hand prints all over mirrors so it just gave me the ick & I put towels down to sleep on the bed. Which was really lumpy. The pool - beautiful, had it to myself a lot of the time. There was only 1 sun lounge, which wasn’t great but 2 more were on order , it doesn’t look like the pics as there’s a heap of seats and tables but no where to lounge in the sun which was what ppl were looking for. I’m an Accor member and would have expected a bit more pride in the presentation of rooms.
Love the pool and the rooms are always clean. Only regular tv stations though as no smart TVs and apparently wifi is not good enough to run the Google Chromecast devices that are now just uselessly strapped into the back of each tv in such a way to prevent it being plugged in. Not sure the point why not just take them all out?
Had a wonderful stay at the Adelaide Rockford. While the room was a little dated, it was comfortable and suitable for a work stay. The chair provided for the desk didn't fit under the table, so made it a little uncomfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful with directions and things to do
