Andrea Reiss – the eponymous 'Dre' – began her love affair with pastry long before opening Chez Dre in 2011. Having spent years working in renowned Melbourne restaurants and in Michelin-starred groups and in five-star hotels, she arrived back in Melbourne well-qualified to be serving up some of Melbourne's best sweet treats. So obviously Chez Dre is a popular South Melbourne spot during the day for a pastry and a coffee with friends and family, or for brunch in the delightfully dog-friendly courtyard. When one takes a closer look at the interior however, it'll come as no surprise that Chez Dre makes for a stylish and unique function space. The converted South Melbourne warehouse keeps its rustic, industrial aesthetic and combines it with art deco touches; marble-topped tables and green button-tufted banquettes. Think kaleidoscopic motifs over a polished concrete floor and bespoke ironwork. Chez Dré offers a relaxed, yet sophisticated environment for events, catering for small and intimate receptions to larger wedding parties and launch parties. The team aims to take the stress out of planning and offer a full range of services.
