Very close to everything including the Flinders Street station. Clean, convenient and totally worth the money. Very spacious rooms. There was a coffee machine in the room which was good 🤗 Staff was super friendly. We had the breakfast buffet for two days which was good. There wasn't a coffee machine in the buffet. But you can buy separately from the in-house cafe. Overall we enjoyed the stay. Very relaxing. Totally recommended ❤️❤️❤️

This is our second time to choose Oaks as our residence when we travel in Australia. Last time we chose Oaks in Brisbane, and it was quite a surprise experience. The service was thoughtful and friendly, the room was clean, and the location is great (it located in CBD). So when we travel in Melbourne, we chose Oaks again without hesitation. But it seems like Brisbane Oaks made our expectations too high for Melbourne Oaks to reach. The location is still good (in the central part, and it’s convenient to take transportation). However, the service and room were not as good as last time. When we check in and check out, all front desk staffs gave our hands as they can, and they were kind enough. While the staff in the restaurant were not very nice. It seems like they do not listen and speak English very well. In addition, they always let customers wait. Wait for they preparing trays, wait for they pushing carts, wait for they wiping tables, they just don't return to the entrance to take orders. I understand that mornings can be busy, but couldn't one of your employees find the time to take our order? It seems a bit unreasonable. Even while I was waiting, I saw two of restaurant staffs chatting together and not working.

Location was fine for me, rooms were a bit depressing. Felt like I was walking it to a basic bedsit, carpet stained in kitchen area, but overall clean and practical and it was just for sleeping. Handy bar downstairs where I had a couple of glasses of wine a couple of evenings. Didn’t eat but it had options and looked nice. Staff were friendly and helpful

We specifically chose this hotel based on its strong reputation and numerous positive reviews. What makes our experience even more disappointing is that this is supposed to be a high-end, well-regarded establishment. Despite confirming reception would be open for our midnight arrival on Dec 15, we were left stranded outside the hotel after a long flight. The front door was locked even though we could see a staff member inside who chose to ignore us. The emergency contact number posted wasn't working, and we only got in when another guest happened to exit. When we finally entered, instead of apologizing, the staff member rudely told us it was "common sense" to use an unmarked intercom system that wasn't visible from the entrance. While we were there, other guests experienced the same problem, proving this wasn't an isolated incident. For a hotel of this caliber and reputation, this level of service is unacceptable. The stark contrast between the hotel's reputation and our actual experience was shocking. Basic hospitality standards were not met, let alone the premium service one would expect from a highly-rated establishment.

My room was close to lifts on level 3, heard the whirring sound of the lifts throughout the day which was annoying. The temperature dial was broken, which lead to the room becoming too cold. It took them a while to attend to this, but offered to change rooms but I didn’t want to move. Standard amenities, clean, quiet. But I’ve stayed in better for $250+ a night. Breakfast was underwhelming. Good location
