Great hotel. The free breakfast is excellent. One of the best I have had at any hotel. The view from the 9th floor is amazing. Highly recommend this hotel. Easy access to the tram, which is free inside of the green zone.
This was one of our most desired locations to stay at. When visiting the city we like the location where the hotel is situated and city view rooms have been amazing in the past. However on this occasion today when we spontaneously decided to stay again for the 6th time I think, as we have stayed here quite a few times in the past. We came to inquire about room availability and sought advice from front desk staff. The one individual whom assisted my wife, son and I at the front desk, was quite rude. Sophie is her name and her customer service is as shocking to say the least, we made a booking online after discussing cheaper alternatives. After the booking was made online, I approached the desk again and I made a minor mistake, she failed to assist us in fixing any issues, on the contrary showed attitude. She was so abrupt, no decent customer service, no empathy that this potential customer who is trying to save a few dollars whilst he is taking his family out, has decided to choose View Melbourne for the entire rest of the city. Whilst their 3 year old son is unsettled and hungry whilst trying to check in, she could at least try and assist us instead of arguing and saying that it’s our fault, that we did not book the correct room with parking included. The gentleman, I believe as the manager and another work colleague came over called the situation down, as we felt so dis respected and Sophie insisted she was right and continued to show attitude. I was with my family and trying to enjoy a day away from our busy life. I work in customer service also; in Business Management and by far today was the worst customer service I had ever experienced in my life. My family and I are of North Indian Descent and felt out of place when the lady could not even look at us in the eyes, we felt out off like why is she acting like this. We even stayed this to the other staff, “that she can not even look at us in the eyes whilst discussing business”. This whole ordeal put us off and changed our plans for our family outing.
I went with my husband today and the lady named Sophie to my opinion has no knowledge how to speak with customers, also she doesn’t know how to manage customer service. She didn’t make decent eye contact which made us feel uncomfortable while standing there and the lady had attitude, no customer skills, no smile on the face, not welcoming of guests, she had very poor knowledge of how to treat customers. Really she hurts a lot please make sure you don’t deal with Sophie she is a disrespectful person.
My stay at View Melbourne was a mixed bag. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made check-in and any inquiries smooth and pleasant. However, the rooms felt dated, and despite the hotel’s name, there isn’t much of a view to enjoy, as the property faces other businesses rather than scenic sights. On the bright side, the hotel is accessible to the CBD by tram, offering convenience for city trips. That said, it’s not close enough to walk to the city, so plan your travels accordingly. Overall, it’s a decent choice if you prioritize good service and don’t mind the dated rooms or lack of a view.
Room was dirty. Skirting boards had thick dust. Fridge was warm and they had left milk in it. Fridge had been replaced and cupboard was filthy. Lots of black dust. Our room was not serviced at all on our third days stay. Room was booked as king bed. On arrival room was twins. Had to be remade . We have stayed at Parkview on many previous occasions. Restaurant used to be fantastic. Now it’s extremely ordinary. Such a shame for a great location hotel We would love to come back but we need the same quality that was provided previously
