The first thing I'll say is that the view was indeed beautiful, and the hotel is reasonably priced. Unfortunately it seems that over time, especially given the difference in photos pre and post-pandemic, this hotel has physically degraded and not been fixed properly alongside a clear lack of staff. Lots of minor things in the room itself were off (some water damage especially on the bathroom door, a lot of dust, broken or partially broken accent furniture). The hallways were unsettling, not unusual for a hotel, but they were also a bit musty and cracks on the walls and ceiling had been mended without sanding and repainting afterwards. There seemed to have been a pool at some point from photos online, but it has been closed for a while so please be aware of that as outdated reviews and some travel sites mentioning the pool can be misleading - check the direct website for accurate info. Continuing, The breakfast looked grey and tasted bland, which was disappointing as there is an attached bar/cafe restaurant and I expected the food to reflect that. The carpark is shared with paid public parking with little space to turn at the entry and exit and no parks set aside for hotel visitors specifically, making parking a complete nightmare. Reception was extremely understaffed and the service was terrible, not because of the staff themselves, but because there was very clearly not enough people to serve everyone and I felt bad for the people who had to work there. Overall, I would say that the rooms are good enough to stay a few nights, just outdated in styling and, oddly, very dusty. If clear signage was added to the carpark, hotel guests were given a set area to park in, and more staff were hired both for cleaning and service, I think this hotel would be fine and my stay would have been as well. As it is now, it was a disappointing stay. I do believe this review would be more positive if the photos online (both official and uploaded in old reviews) were more accurate to what the hotel looked like as well.

Stayed for work and will definitely come back. Good quality room and service was lovely. Easy parking downstairs and it’s their own, so you’re not charged for per entry. Their TV was simple and used the main apps but the HIGHLIGHT was how effective their aircon was. Simple to use but it works and reliably. Would go back for this simple reason! Good location, a little walk to restaurants and cafes but over all decent. Would suit a few nights stay.

Enjoyed our stay. Staff, room and location were all excellent. Breakfast was good. Just a shame we were looking at a wall outside our window. Blackout curtains were good. Loved the dressing area outside very nice bathroom.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay from 28 Feb. The location was brilliant to access the delights of Melbourne and it was so handy to have off street parking for friends to pop in. The hotel is nicely appointed and best of all were the friendly staff. The buffet breakfast and lunch downstairs were delicious and the live music playing on Sunday really made for a great atmosphere. Thanks to staff and management. We will be back and highly recommend the view hotel.

Nice hotel, friendly & welcoming staff. The rooms are very comfortable with all the regular amenties. I chose the "Go Green" option since I don't really care if my bed is changed during my weekly stays (it would only be done weekly at home anyway) and I enjoyed my glass of Prosecco as a thank you each night. The food in the Hop Bar is delicious and the conveniece of a tram right out the front as well as street parking makes this a super spot to stay.
