Manhattan in Melbourne: VenueNow X Metropolis Events

Metropolis Events is one of those venues that captures your attention from that first glance. Its striking windows offer uninterrupted and unparalleled views of the Yarra and CBD. The space itself is impressively large, while still retaining a sense of intimacy. Its interior is a meticulously thought-out nod to the cosmopolitan elegance of living in a big city.

And for one night, Metropolis Events, in partnership with VenueNow, treated 50 guests to a cosmopolitan experience like no other. Corporate clients were taken on a cultural journey for a taste of Manhattan in Melbourne.

It was a treat for all the senses. Guests were greeted with a stunning view from the Panorama Room; the Yarra River rippling like a black ribbon. The city lights beginning to twinkle to life as the sun set.

A baby grand piano was on hand to set the scene with New York club tunes, and huge run of cheeses and charcuterie had everyone frequently excusing themselves from conversations.

As the champagne corks flew and wine was poured, everyone’s little winter blues began melting away.

Before too long, it was time for reveal number one. An organza curtain wall parted to reveal a beautifully set dining room.

Wine glasses began to clink, cutlery gentling tapping as knives swept through delicate plates of rolled lamb, lamb racks or red snapper.

A musical duo serenaded the crowd before VenueNow’s Head of Business Development formally welcomed guests to this Manhattan in Melbourne experience, and thanked our co-hosts Metropolis Events.

And these values resonated with guests...in particular ‘wow customers’. At the conclusion of the speech, two aerial hoop artists appeared to showcase feats of strength, skill and balance. The room was instantly filled with the light glow of phones, as people began to take photos, videos and Boomerangs of the incredibly talented girls.

To keep the momentum going, it was time for the final reveal. Hanging in the Atrium Room were two perspex tables, adorned with an array of tiny desserts. Mini crème brûlée, macarons, strawberry parfait and salted caramel tartlets began to quickly disappear

The final flourish of Manhattans (complete with maraschino cherry) and pink cosmos cemented the night as a top-of-the-town hit.
