Georgia Louison is one of the friendly faces behind VenueNow’s partner relationships, bringing energy, insight, and a genuine love for hospitality to her role as Partner Account Manager. Based in Bondi Junction, Sydney, her journey into the events industry wasn’t something she planned from the start, but it’s where she was always meant to land.

“I kind of fell into it,” Georgia shares. After studying criminology at university with plans to become a police officer, she quickly realised that path wasn’t for her. A move to London changed everything. With the help of a friend working at a well-known hospitality group, Georgia landed a role in their sales and events team, and that’s where her events career truly began.

“I’ve always spent most of my free time trying out new bars and restaurants anyway, so working in hospitality just made sense, and it's an industry I love being part of,” she says.

This passion continues to influence how Georgia operates to this day, allowing VenueNow partners to connect with the right venues, clients, and opportunities, and giving great spaces the attention they so rightly deserve.

What do you enjoy most about working in events?

No two venues are the same, so there’s always variety, and it feels good knowing you’re helping people showcase their spaces and bring events to life in a way that works for them.

What’s your favourite event you’ve attended and why?

Glastonbury is hands down the best event I’ve been to because it’s so much more than just the music. The scale, the energy, the people. It feels like its own little world for a few days. There’s something special happening everywhere you turn, whether it’s a massive headline set or a random hidden stage you stumble across. It’s chaotic in the best way and completely unforgettable.

What makes a great event in your opinion?

For me, it’s all about the food, drinks and overall vibe. Having a good mix of canapés and drinks circulating makes a huge difference, but so does matching the ambience to the kind of event you’re hosting. Light, airy rooftop? Lighter food and an Aperol spritz. Darker, more intimate bar? Moody lighting and red wine.

What’s one event trend you’re loving right now?

Coffee Raves. Unique venues that have something different about them and are more relaxed and interactive.

What’s your number one event planning tip?

Lock in the key details early — venue, budget and guest numbers. Once those are set, everything else feels a lot less stressful and way easier to manage.

Do you have an event “hack” you swear by?

Wear comfy shoes!

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the events industry?

Be open to learning and don’t be afraid to ask questions. It’s a fast-paced industry, and you learn so much by just getting stuck in. Also, relationships matter a lot - being reliable and easy to work with goes a long way.

What’s one thing people might not know about working in events?

How much work happens behind the scenes. When an event looks effortless on the day, it usually means a lot of planning, emails and problem-solving happened beforehand.
