We came for dinner last Friday night. I had been here previously and had a good experience, but this was my first time doing the chef's tasting menu here (we do tasting menu's at most places we go to) For $89pp it was a huge amount of food, it was just a very odd choice of dishes. The first course was a pepperoni pizza to share. The pizza was tasty but was a strange dish to start on. We then were both served a pasta dish which was quite tasteless. The pasta was definitely on the harder side as well and the sauce was quite watery. We both then recieved a chicken dish each for our third dish which honestly tasted like something from Hello Fresh. Dessert was tiramisu which was average. We had to get Takeaway containers for dessert due to the overwhelming amount of food. Neither of us were interested in taking home any of the other dishes, though. I would definitely not recommend doing the chefs tasting menu here. So many other restaurants have quality tasting menus at similar price points. Quantity does not equal quality. I mentioned to our waiter that the pizza was an interesting choice for our first dish. On asking the chef about it, he said the reasoning was to give us something to share as the other courses were individual. We had a bit of a WTF moment when we first got the pizza, I had go double check it was for the right table. Props to our server, he comped a glass of wine. Unfortunately not enough to improve a bad dining experience. There was also a function on that night which I'm hoping may have impacted food quality. It was super weird to have a function on in the main area with dining outside. Such an awkward experience to walk through a function to get to the only toilet. The table next to us were commenting on this also. If we'd been warned of that I would've just cancelled our booking. Pictured below is my hello fresh equivalent dish.

We loved our return to Ambra! Hadn’t tried their food before - not disappointed! Our food salads and spritzes were the perfect meal before our show at the Wheatsheaf hotel. The piano accordionist was just getting underway, but sounded fun.

We were gifted a 6 course dining experience and were a bit unsure of what to expect as we are both fussy eaters but omg! That was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! The food could not have been better, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was great. Looking forward to bringing my friends and family here too experience it themselves!

My favourite meal in the world is creamy pasta so i was so keen to try this place for the cheese wheel pasta. First impression was the dude up the front was really nice! our romantic dinner unfortunately was ruined when we were shown our table which was conveniently sandwiched between another couple, and a table of 8. I’m talking CRAMPED. Not sure why as there was tonnes of other spots..but i digress. I ordered the cheese wheel pasta, the girl who did the cheese wheel was so rude, no acknowledgment, didn’t even look at me just grabbed my plate. I’m willing to look past this… But the pasta was absolutely inedible. In my whole history of eating out at places i’ve never been served food that was inedible. This pasta tasted like it had been soaked in hand sanitizer, not even my very hungry husband could eat it. My throat and mouth burned with every bite, i tried to give it a chance but it was so horrible. The steak and potato purée was decent though! Very disappointed and won’t be coming back.
