Private Hire at Whistle & Flute
Greenhill Rd, Unley Park SA 5061, Australia
If you haven’t heard about Whistle & Flute as the go-to spot for private dining and cocktail parties… where have you been? We call it Whistle: a leafy little wonderland of warm timber, hanging plants, and twinkly night-time vibes. It’s part restaurant, part garden, all about good food, great drinks, and nights you’ll be talking about long after last call. Enquiries land with our Director of Moments (yep, that’s their real title), whose job is to help you build the perfect night. Want a roaming canapé party? Your Private Bar For the night Or maybe a menu with a little Part Time Lover flair or Sofia Bistro sophistication sprinkled in? We’ve got you. By day Whistle does its thing, but when the sun goes down the space is yours — exclusive hire, seven nights a week. Mid-week think networking drinks, client dinners, team wins. On the weekend? Birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, or even that “not-too-big but still totally special” wedding. Minimums are always flexible during the week, so whether it’s an intimate dinner with a few legends or a full-scale takeover, Whistle works. Just touch base and we will make something work.

Very good food, coffee and customer service. I had the halloumi burger with added bacon and my partner had the crab chilli scrambled, both absolutely hit the spot. The coffee was really good too, we ended up going back for seconds. Definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed the crème brûlée french toast I had, however, it was kind of plain compared to a few other french toasts I've had lately. However, it was still very good, as well as the flat white I had. I think I would have enjoyed the atmosphere inside the café better than the outside area, but it was so busy that you would have to make a reservation to get seating inside. It looked very nice so I will definitely go back and try to get a seat and try some more items on the menu.

When I’m brunching, I like to have the bacon and eggs as it’s a great way to compare places. I did not have to ask for soft poached eggs as they came out perfectly on top of beautifully toasted ciabatta. The bacon was slightly crispy as I requested. There is bacon and poached eggs and then there is bacon that is not too smoky or salty and perfectly done eggs. It can make a world of difference. My eating companion had the haloumi, avocado and bacon burger which by all accounts was delicious. A downside of this spot is that they only serve cold-pressed juices. The breakfast and brunch menu is slightly limited to make way for lunch items as well. I also tried the plain croissant which looked so beautifully laminated but was sadly lacking in butter.

Food was great, service was great, atmosphere was great. Apart from the parking being a bit of an issue, the cafe is definitely worth a visit.

I only swung past here for a coffee catchup but had to give a review as it’s an awesome little cafe. Would be very keen to come back and try the food as it looked great from what I saw. I can say the coffee I got was great. Very tasty, well made and good temperature. The venue itself is quite cool. A mix of indoor/outdoor vibes and even though it was a cold, wet day, it still felt cosy and warm in the open area which pleasant. Staff were super friendly, accommodating and welcomed me as soon as I entered. Worth a visit, I know I’m keen to come back soon for sure!
