This is creative Middle Eastern food where the chefs like to mix and match both unusual and obvious ingredients. We had abroholos scallops(2) with salmon roe and pangrattato? for entree. Mains were wood grilled squid with tomato, olives, dill and sujuk (spicy Turkish sausage), and Turkish coffee cured and wood roasted duck with leeks and pomegranate. You can see the innovative combinations there. The dishes were a gourmet's delight . The duck is skinned and presented like two tenderloins and it was sensational. The restaurant is large with inside and outside seating Service is attentive and responsive. A great experience.

My wife, daughter and I ended up going to Babylon Restaurant by accident under circumstances I won't bore you with. I had been to the gardens 18 months ago, but not the Restaurant. The food was good in the garden, it's delicious in the Restaurant. For entrees, house made bread wither Avatar spiced butter, Hummus, macadam dukkah and olive oil. Excellent. For mains, wood fired Angus beef, with chilli butter and pickled radish, Manti slow cooked lamb dumplings, with yoghurt, mint and chilli butter and Turkish coffee cured wood roasted duck, leeks, pomegranate and fesenjan sauce with Spiced Cauliflower for a side dish. All mains were excellent, the duck was the best I have eaten anywhere. Washed down with a glass of Gabbiano Pinot Grigio, little to complain about. The hero dish was dessert, chocolate tahini with sesame sponge, sliced dates and Turkish coffee and chocolate sauce. Imagine chocolate mousse with tiramisu but better. A lot better. Absolutely divine! The Turkish delight was also really good. Great food, great view of the Story Bridge and reasonably priced considering the quality of the meals.

The food is solid—scallops, chicken, swordfish, and cucumber salad all deliver. Unfortunately, the tiny table and awkward seating made things uncomfortable, and the service felt like a relay race, perhaps rushed. It’s pricey and a bit of a squeeze, but your taste buds will definitely enjoy the ride even if your wallet doesn’t .

Great experience. Food was delicious. Some items were hit and some were slight miss but overall flavours were good. Octopus and prawns dishes were our highlight. Service immaculate and beautiful atmosphere with river views.

A bit of a debacle. Not many patrons for a Sunday sunny lunch time, yet one staff member!!! When the patrons are clearing glasses a there are queues at the bar, perhaps it’s time for a rethink. Babylon is a lovely spot on the river. Drinks are pricey. I tried to order a bottle of wine- this was unavailable. A second choice- unavailable! Seriously! So third choice, which was dramatically more expensive than the ones I actually wanted. Went to order food. Well, despite 5 dishes on the menu containing beef, apparently all beef dishes were unavailable. Another rethink. We had the certain cheese- this was average. Needed way more prep and more honey. The Turkish bread was heavy. Fattoush salad was essentially 90% cucumber and some rockmelon tha was tasteless and way too much sauce. The pita was cut into thin strips and was unappealing, Also ordered the pulled chicken pita. This was interesting and tasty. 2 small plates and a pitta and a bottle of wine and we’re down over $200!!! Surcharge for a Sunday is a hidden cost. Had potential to be much better!
