We stayed on the Valentines day weekend - Very expensive for the Saturday night but that is what hotels do. Parking is very expensive. Staff are nice and helpful - I was impressed by the morning breakfast service - a good range of items and continually refreshed - staff constantly cleaning tables with so many tourists staying - the Burcher Muesli was a surprise as very rare to see this in Australia. Delicious - Convenient location and will be happy to stay again - rooms were in good shape and the cleaning team deserve praise as the hotel is super hectic on the weekends - we have stayed at these hotels around the world and this one is in the top few for good operations. Cheers, Haydn - Lake Macquarie - Australia

The hotel was located on a slope with a better view of the city. The area was quite quiet. Therefore, breakfast was included in the room rate. The choice was average with just one or two alternations in the buffet menu. Freshly brewed coffee was offered at a charge. I stayed for 4 nights and appreciated the room design very much. It was quite modern and user oriented. However, a few minor improvements could be made such as replacing the mirror, washing basin due to wear and tear, adding a curtain to block the light from the bathroom, a rail to hang more clothes...etc. The window blind was excellent, blocking all the light for a better sleep. TV was large enough, but watching YouTube was not available. Toothbrush and other daily necessities were offered at the front desk upon request. Shower area was sizable. Carpark was fully automatic at the entrance without using a ticket.

We stayed from December 23 to December 30, 2025, and had a great experience. Breakfast was included during the public holiday period, which was very convenient. All staff were friendly and welcoming, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. Special thanks to Express Agent Nikki for her quick and helpful email responses when we had additional requests after booking. We had a lovely and memorable holiday in Australia. We are planning a trip to Japan in mid-January, and it’s a pity that there are limited IHG hotel options in the city we will be visiting — otherwise, we would definitely choose IHG again.

My family and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Brisbane CBD for four nights, looking forward to a relaxing and comfortable stay. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we anticipated. From the moment we arrived, we encountered difficulties with our room placement. We had booked two rooms with the understanding that they would be adjoining or at least close to each other, given that we were traveling as a family. Instead, we were initially placed in rooms that were quite far apart, causing inconvenience and disrupting our plans. It took multiple requests and a considerable amount of time before the hotel finally accommodated our request and moved us to rooms that were closer together. The problems did not end there. One of the rooms had a malfunctioning air conditioner, and we discovered this late at night. We had to be moved to a different room on another floor, which was not ideal. The following night, when we were given a connecting room, we found it in a deplorable state. Personal belongings from previous guests were still in the room, and the bed sheets were not changed. We reported these issues immediately, but despite multiple complaints, no proper action was taken. What made the situation more frustrating was the lack of effective response from the hotel management. While Tanvi, one of the shift managers, was understanding and attempted to help, Thomas, another manager, merely listened to our concerns without taking any meaningful steps to rectify the problems. This lack of follow-through left us feeling undervalued as guests. Ultimately, these issues detracted from what should have been a memorable family trip. We were constantly concerned about the cleanliness and comfort of our rooms, which overshadowed the enjoyment of our time in Brisbane. Despite the good intentions of some staff members, the overall service and response were lacking. While we appreciated the convenience of the location, the stay at Holiday Inn Brisbane CBD was disappointing. We expected a high standard of service and cleanliness, which unfortunately was not met. For anyone considering a stay, I would advise caution and hope that the hotel takes these concerns seriously to improve future guest experiences.

A returning client and my second stay at Holiday Inn Express Brisbane. As a non-tourist, i found the hotel reasonable in location and extremely fit for purpose. Reception staff were very polite and i appreciated the acknowledgement of IHG membership. The open plan concept meant the reception area also doubled up as the bar and cafe area. The breakfast area was immediately behind this area. Free breakfast offered to clients was sufficient - expect scrambled eggs, bacon/ sausages, hash browns and baked beans. Bread, yoghurt, fruit and cereal as well as coffee/ tea/ juice were also available. The slightly tight breakfast hours that concludes at 0930hrs means the dining area can get busy, however all patrons still managed to find a seat from my observation! The room was clean, well maintained and functional. This is what I truly like about the Holiday Inn chain and establishments that I have patronised. Basic coffee/ tea amenities, a safe and fridge as well as USB ports reflected the thought given in the room design. Limited on site parking is available as an added cost. Otherwise, one can opt for off-street metered parking. Will I return? - probably yes!
