Stayed here recently and was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. The bed was great, which is important because apparently I'm now at an age where hotel bed quality is a major discussion topic. The staff were friendly and helpful, check-in was easy, and the location made getting around simple. Breakfast was good too, although I may have slightly overestimated how many pastries one person should consume before 8am. It's not trying to be a five-star luxury resort, and that's exactly the point. Good value, comfortable stay, and no nasty surprises. I'd happily stay here again.
Great stay! The room was clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect—just a short walk from everything. It was the ideal place to stay for the Dolphins game, and I even went for a morning run around South Bank before breakfast. Breakfast wasn't included in our booking, but we decided to have it anyway and it was excellent. Overall, a fantastic experience. We'll definitely stay here again!
Not a large room, but it had all the essentials. It was called a superior Queen room with a city view and cost was $190 AUD for the night. The room was very bright in the morning and needs properly fitted/closing curtains - the curtain was kind of hanging off the corner on one side & there was no attempt at block out, so I couldn't sleep past 5.45am. Picture below shows curtains around 6am (Queensland summer). 9/10 clean room - though the kettle looked scaley so I didn't use it. Comfy bed, nice and clean sheets and mattress. The room actually had a safe (which the last two hotels in Brissy I stayed in did not!) which was very appreciated. Physical info on how to access wifi etc would be useful but it was all on the TV. Really central, super close to every shop imaginable, a movie theatre, and the casino is close by. We ate at "Jimmy's on The Mall" a 5 minute meander, and it was great. An easy ten minute walk back to Central Station even pulling a fairly heavy bag behind me. Hotel staff were very friendly, the hotel seemed fresh and had a nice vibe, and had been kept well since I last visited about 7 years ago. I didn't use the hotel restaurant but it was nice enough on my last visit. Pet peeve - I do wish hotels would stop cost cutting (and yeah that's what it is, no excuses please) with those big bottles of refillable soap etc. It means I always have to bring my own as you've no idea what's in those bottles 😭 Seeing those refillable bottles always disappoints, but sadly a lot do it. Overall a pleasant stay, except for the 530am sunshine :)
Seamless check in and extremely courteous staff. Great location next to Uptown mall on one side and an Irish bar on the other. Room was decent if a bit small and the bed was comfortable. Shower was very good. All amenities were clean and up to date. The only drawback was the position of the room. It’s at the back of the building and looks on to the top/back of other buildings, which have machinery that runs all night. I was on the 6th floor in room (I think) 13. You will need earplugs if you stay in this room.
A weekend getaway to see the military tattoo. Check in was a breeze with Jazzy being super helpful and professional. Room 1705 is a delightful corner room overlooking the Brisbane River. Simple things like shiny wine glasses, great coffee mugs and a good supply of tea & coffee sachets, make for a pleasurable time. Ample hot water in the shower with large white towels and dispenser toiletries. Very comfortable bed, pillows and quality linen. Free high speed WiFi. A swift and easy checkout with Jazzy. Great location with the river, shops and the casino nearby.
