With its old-world charm and dimly lit setting, South City Wine is enticing and intimate, with a collection of romanticism-style oil paintings, dark timber panelling and emerald green marble table tops.
An artisanal selection of carefully considered natural wines, curated by Restaurant Manager Mark Patterson, from renowned local and international vineyards, paired with an extensive list of fine Champagne and classic French cocktails, makes for a connoisseur’s playground.
Whether for wine or staying for a while, the menu offers an ever-changing selection of specials alongside a curated selection of quintessential European bistro classics such as steak frites, escargot, venison tartare, fresh oysters, chicken liver parfait and charcuterie.

Last Friday night, we dined at South City Wine, and it was such a great vibe. We brought our puppy with us, and the staff were so friendly; they even brought a bed and water for him. The service was attentive, and the wine was excellent. The highlights of the night were the l’orange sauce and the venison tartare. The duck breast was cooked perfectly, though the sides were a bit disappointing. The potato bake was nice and creamy inside but slightly overcooked (almost burnt) on the outside. I was excited to try the pistachio profiteroles, but they were a bit too crispy and overcooked. Overall, it was a really good experience, and we’ll definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.
Everyone has been so lovely and accomodating! Food was a 10/10! Venue is stunning. Everything we’ve ordered did not miss at all. My friend who has never had escargot instantly loved it. Highly recommend! Thank you to everyone at South City!
Celebration dinner last night at one of our favorite places. Every plate was delish ! Sourdough, Beef tartare, Mortadella Soldier, Panfried Gnocchi and Duck A L’orange! We’ve loved exploring the seasonal menus over the years. The staff are always so wonderful and such a great atmosphere
The food was good and enjoyable - the steak was tender and the fries were crisp. Service and atmosphere were also pleasant. But the presentation and overall experience felt a bit simple for a 5-star rating, so something small was missing.
Very nice restaurant, attentive staff and great food. There were a couple of very good boys (dogs) with their owners. Great to see dogs being allowed in the outdoor area, with dog beds, water bowls and treats. The venison tartare was very nice and the wine selection was great.
