What was meant to be a day trip to Canberra for a birthday party, we decided to try our luck on the way there from Penrith and call Ahead and see if there was was a place to stay over night. Call after call all other hotels either had no vacancy or couldn’t provide parking for our vehicle (lifted 4wd with a high clearance needed). We almost gave up and one of the last places we called was Peppers Gallery. We spoke to Ally on the phone on the way there. She was very friendly and helpful. Once we got there she went above and beyond to make sure we had a spot for our car, and booked us in for a night. She was very professional and made us feel welcome. The hotel is a lot bigger that it looks from the street, and our room was way above what we expected for what we paid. We will definitely be staying here again next time we visit Canberra. Highly recommended!
We stayed at Peppers for our wedding anniversary. The staff were welcoming and efficient at check in and at all times. The room was clean and generous in size. The location is ideal, close to the city but very little noise. Great for a weekend getaway, or a longer holiday.
My room was well appointed and had great light and a spacious bathroom. The staff were accommodating and friendly with great service in the bar and restaurant as well. The heritage part of the building does lend itself to being a bit of a 'rabbit warren' of sorts with corridors, levels and numbers not always making sense - be sure to let them know if stairs are not a possibility for you with or without your luggage. Recommended stay with some great sustainability options in place.
Comfortable bed, that’s very important for me Clean, good location, friendly staff especially Yash and Udea. Very professional and helpful. The restaurant was closed , under construction, and although we had ala carte the cafe was closed in the weekend . The hotel should have not have breakfast option on accord . But Yash was accommodating! He made us special hot drink. That’s enough for starting my day. Thank you!
The hotel itself feels old, tired, and in need of serious refurbishment. Unfortunately, the on-site restaurant was just as underwhelming. The experience was made worse by the manager’s attitude. When I placed my order, I asked for a glass of orange juice. I could not see the buffet as it is hidden behind a wall, so I had no way of knowing it was self-serve. Instead of simply explaining that, the manager brusquely pointed me in the general direction of the buffet. Moments later, the next couple walked in. He proactively asked them if they would like orange juice, they said yes, and he personally went to the buffet and fetched it for them. I want to be very clear that I had no issue getting my own drink. The issue was the obvious contrast in how I was treated versus how they were treated. Things went downhill further when I presented my Accor Explorer card. He visibly rolled his eyes and behaved as though my membership was a personal inconvenience, which is completely unprofessional. I will not be returning. The only positive was the reception staff, who were genuinely friendly and very helpful when I realised I had left something behind.
