I stayed here for 2 nights - to be fair I slept well but that was the only positive of the stay. In the morning I woke up and opened the blinds, to find that the window was boarded up and didn't exist (Room 6). The floor had lots of small insects on it and the bathroom was tiny. For $180/night it was really poor value and I would choose somewhere else when next in Mackay. Some colleagues were in cheaper hotels that night that were far better. I wouldn't recommend accommodations here to a friend.

During the visit to the Boomerang Motor Hotel' bar/restaurant, the establishment was relatively quiet. Due to ongoing kitchen renovations, all food was served on disposable tableware. The order was delivered in under 20 minutes. The beef burger and slider lacked flavor and did not meet expectations, but the chicken parmigiana was quite good. The sweet potato fries were enjoyable, though the portion size was small. The tables and the overall premises were clean and well-maintained.

Leila is by far the best barmaid we've ever been served by. She's always friendly, welcoming, and remembers her regular customers, making every visit enjoyable. Her customer service is exceptional, and she's a real credit to the Boomerang Hotel. She's one of the main reasons we love coming back.

My husband and I recently had lunch in the new beer garden at the Boomerang Hotel, and we were so impressed. The food was absolutely excellent, fresh, generous portions, and beautifully presented. Everything came out promptly and tasted fantastic. The service was just as good, friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being over the top. The new beer garden itself is such a great addition. It’s a lovely, cool space to sit back, enjoy a meal and a few drinks, and relax. What really stood out was being able to comfortably watch the kids in the play area while we enjoyed ourselves, it makes such a difference for families. A wonderful atmosphere all round. We’ll definitely be back!

It seems that they servers halal food upon request (thought not certified halal menu). I think the confirmation is necessary from them. It will be a jackpot if they made halal suitable chicken and beef items on customer's request by just making it into seperate oil and changing gloves while preparing.
