We recently stayed at McGuigan House for a corporate retreat and honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. The venue is beautiful, the amenities were great, and everything was so well looked after. What really stood out was the service, the management team were incredible and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable from start to finish. It was the perfect setting for both work and relaxing with the team. Such a great experience overall and we’ll definitely be back.

McGuigan House is simply spectacular. This was our second visit—the first was for a close friend's wedding last year, which people are still talking about. We knew we had to find an excuse to return, and my father's 80th birthday was the perfect occasion. The property itself is unlike anywhere we have ever stayed: grand and luxurious in scale, yet filled with thoughtful touches that create warmth, character and an effortlessly relaxed atmosphere. We loved exploring the many different spaces, from drinks in the Observatory to homemade pizzas and whisky around the firepit. The grounds are beautifully maintained and a pleasure to wander, champagne in hand. The following day we stepped straight from the front door onto a helicopter for lunch at Bistro Molines before returning to the marquee for an unforgettable 80th birthday celebration. The setting was incredible, but what truly made the weekend special was the team behind McGuigan House. From our very first interaction, they were exceptional. Their communication was warm, generous and proactive, always anticipating what we might need before we even had to ask. Every detail felt carefully considered, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Despite hosting events on a grand scale, they somehow make every guest feel personally cared for. The best example was arriving on Sunday morning to find a complete pancake station set up by the pool, with batter, toppings and everything needed for a relaxed family breakfast. It was one of countless thoughtful gestures that made us feel genuinely welcomed and thoroughly spoiled throughout our stay. McGuigan House provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable family celebration, but it is the people behind it who make it truly special. We left with wonderful memories, immense gratitude, and a strong desire to return. If you're looking for an extraordinary venue in the Hunter Valley, we couldn't recommend it more highly.

We had the most magical experience at McGuigan House in Lovedale. From start to finish, the property, the setting, and the team exceeded every expectation. The accommodation for the bridal party was also incredibly impressive. The grand living areas, large statement fireplaces, and enormous, very private master suite made the whole stay feel special, luxurious, and perfectly suited to a wedding celebration. The management were incredibly accommodating and made sure we wanted for nothing. Every detail felt considered, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The views of the mountain ranges from the tent were absolutely breathtaking and created the most stunning backdrop for the day. McGuigan House was really special. It felt both charming and quaint, whilst also having the grandeur of a beautiful private estate with the practical things that make a big event run smoothly. The views, accommodation, service, and attention to detail were all outstanding. I could not recommend it highly enough. Not something that I thought about until a few guests mentioned it to me, but the mobile coverage across the property was great, which is often not the case in other grand home-style venues in the Hunter. It made such a difference for guests, suppliers, and everyone staying connected throughout the event. We have been to weddings at other Hunter Valley venues, including some beautiful estates, but one thing that really stood out about McGuigan House was the way the management team handled the wedding of 200 people. They were clearly trained to be solutions based, as every problem was taken off our hands with a smile. After a magical day and a very late night, we went to bed early Sunday morning and woke to find the onsite staff had already cleaned up all the mess from the festivities. The property was back to perfect condition, which was honestly incredible. A very special thank you to Meg, who was always available, day or night, and somehow managed to put up with our very demanding group. We were hard work, but she handled everything with patience, professionalism, and a smile.

Worked here regularly with our band/DJs. Stunning venue that’s been beautifully renovated. The ceremony, cocktail location, house (for preps/accom) and the marquee for the reception are all on site which makes things relaxed and easy. What a beautiful experience. We were there with entire family for a weekend. The venue is in such a great position within the Hunter Valley. Management could not have been more welcoming. We met them there on the first evening... they welcomed us and made us feel at home. Facilities were world class... I just wish we had longer there! Thank you to the beautiful team who made our stay one to remember.
