Standing proud on the corner of one of Melbourne’s most glamorous seaside suburbs is the Bleakhouse Hotel, a two-storey pub in the heart of Albert Park, drenched in history, serving seaside revellers since 1883. While the Bleakhouse boasts one of the best bayside views in Melbourne, the historic venue has recently returned to its former glory as a traditional Aussie pub, where warm hospitality and quality food and beverage come first.
With three dedicated function spaces across two levels, the Bleakhouse Hotel is perfectly equipped to host functions and events of any theme, budget or occasion.

I recently had lunch at The Bleak House, and I was thoroughly impressed. The service was outstanding—the staff especially Ferenl, he was attentive, friendly, and made sure to check in without being intrusive. The food was a delight—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I especially loved their chicken salad—light but packed with bright ingredients. The cozy atmosphere also made it a perfect midday escape. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great steak! Lots of space inside. No pub squash or solo though. Nice little tucked away beer garden.

Steak night.. steaks were delicious and we ordered plenty as a group. I even accidentally dropped mine and the waiter replaced the whole thing for me without a hassle. Mad respect! Classic pub atmosphere along the beach front. Highly recommend. Sauce was delicious!

Overall it’s a nice venue near the beach. It’s quite a large venue so can feel quiet even though there’s still 30+ customers. The food was delicious. Would be great if the Parma was always in the menu and not just Tuesday nights.
