A popular spot for office workers at lunchtime and for groups of friends or colleagues in the evening. The menu features the typical dishes you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant, along with a good selection of drinks. Service is impressively quick given the number of guests during lunch hours, but booking in advance is highly recommended; otherwise, you may face a long wait before being seated.

Had dinner at Fonda Flinders Street last night and everything was spot on. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. The tacos were excellent – especially the Baja Snapper, Crispy Prawn, and Grilled Chicken. The Lamb Shoulder Quesadilla and the new Slow Cooked Beef Birria were packed with flavour, and the Tasmanian Lamb Burrito was another highlight. We also really enjoyed the Jalapeno Cheese Bites and the Smoky Mac & Cheese Croquettes. Great experience overall – we’ll definitely be coming back.

The food here is really good; it's tasty and the portions are big enough. Unfortunately, I went to Fonda in Flinders Lane at 2:57 with some friends, and the customer service from the waiter who speaks Spanish was awful. The other one was lovely and nice, but honestly, this can make a difference in the experience. The food can be amazing, but the service from this particular person made lunchtime upsetting.

Food was generally good but my fave was definitely the prawn taco. Very nicely seasoned, and well complemented by the pineapple salsa. The mushroom taco was a bit too oily, so the taco ends up becoming quite soggy.

We visited Fonda for lunch with a friend who came from Sydney. We had a really good experience. Food was very tasty. We tried their bowls, sweet potato fries and couple of drinks. Everything tasted good. The ambience was great too. Thank you. Will definitely visit again.
