Staff were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. Food was average at best. The actual venue is amazing, lots of heating in outdoor areas, great atmosphere!
Don't go for Drag Trivia. Queen taking 1-2 minute breaks between each question to type up messages on her phone, never really engaging the room and bringing up the vibe other than at the very beginning. Felt as though she was trying to stretch 45 minutes of content across two hours without much filler. Also made up completely nonsensical rules as she went along which made the game confusing. As for the venue itself, no food specials on a Monday, and $17 for a bowl of chips? Wiiiiiild. The player tables felt cramped together, which is strange given there were free tables dotted around the area this was taking place. Temperature all over the place. Bar staff attentive towards keeping drinks served quickly and were on top of clearing up tables. There are some generous prizes up for grabs, though much like a timeshare presentation you have no interest in, you need to make it to the end. Shocking that this is the same hospo group who run the Golden Gate Hotel. Even if this is your closest pub, I recommend you make the trip over to South Melbourne if you want an awesome Drag Trivia night. Silk and Tilly run a really fun and memorable trivia on parma night that puts this to shame.
Overall fantastic seats on the rooftop, catchy music, lively atmosphere. The staff were lovely, especially Manny who served us. The food we ordered were decent, the fish was a bit too dry for my liking. The sparkling and cocktail are delicious, I was satisfied.
Had such an amazing time with my friends yesterday! The staff were incredibly friendly, the food and drinks were absolutely top-notch, and the vibe was just perfect. Definitely going back again! ✨
I attended a birthday dinner at Harlow in Richmond on a lovely Saturday evening in March. We were seated on the balcony, which was the perfect spot to watch the sun go down over the outdoor area. Our group had a couple of long tables to spread out, and there was a TV at the end of the balcony along with easy access to the bar, where we grabbed plenty of drinks throughout the night. The location is great, just a short walk from East Richmond Station and close to the city. Harlow has a really welcoming vibe, with heaps of space both indoors and out. There are DJ booths and dance floors downstairs, function spaces upstairs, and a bistro and bar area on the main level where we were dining. We ordered drinks when we arrived, I got a well made lemon lime bitters and a beer for my girlfriend, which she really enjoyed. We used the QR codes at the table to order food and went with a serve of chips and the pork belly bao. The chips were pretty standard, but the bao was a standout. My girlfriend and a few others at our table absolutely loved it and it quickly became a group favourite. What I really loved about Harlow was how versatile the venue is. Whether you’re there for a casual meal, drinks with mates, or a night out dancing, it caters for all of it. The place is full of cosy nooks and open areas to relax or celebrate with friends and family. While we were there, the dance floor downstairs really started to pick up, adding to the atmosphere. There’s also a rooftop area and spaces upstairs for private functions, which looked great. I’d definitely recommend visiting if you’re in Richmond. It’s got a great energy, the location is super convenient, and I’m really keen to go back and try the boozy brunch I’ve heard so much about. Harlow is a top spot worth checking out for your next night out or weekend catch up.
