Our stay was disappointing mainly because of the payment process. It was very confusing, and we kept going around in circles trying to sort out the bond and payment because they didn’t make it clear. Communication was really difficult, which made the whole experience frustrating. When we checked out, there were more issues with the payment, which only added to the frustration. I think the hotel needs to ensure staff are able to communicate clearly in English so these situations can be resolved properly. To make things even worse, I accidentally left a pair of shoes at the hotel. Three weeks later I realised and called to ask if they had been found. I was initially told they were there in lost property, but when I called back the next day, I was told they had been thrown away because they only keep shoes or lost property worth $500 or more for two weeks before getting rid of them. I find that completely unacceptable. You should never tell a customer that their belongings have simply been thrown away. At the very least, the hotel should make every effort to contact the customer before disposing of valuable personal items. For a hotel of this standard, I expected much better customer service and a far more responsible lost property process.

We had a lovely stay at Le Meridien over the weekend. From the moment we arrived, our experience was flawless. The hotel itself is gorgeous; the staff were attentive and courteous. Although the rooms are on the smaller side, they are beautifully designed, as is the ensuite. The location is fantastic, with all that Melbourne has to offer just a short walk away. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at Le Méridien Melbourne for a weekend staycation and honestly wished we didn’t have to check out. The location right at the Paris end of Bourke Street is beautiful, tree-lined and quiet despite being so central. Our room had a stunning view over the city skyline, straight toward the cathedral spires, which made mornings feel really special. Breakfast at Dolly was a highlight, the space has such a unique retro-glam feel, and the food was great. Staff were warm and attentive throughout, even with a toddler in tow. Would happily come back for another slow weekend in the city.

Stayed here for a work trip and was genuinely impressed by the hotel gym. The hotel is great. Lovely staff. Lovely rooms and a great bathroom! Breakfast is a really nice buffet or a grab and go in the foyer cafe. The coffee is great - it is MElbourne after all. Before I arrived I tried to find details of the gym but there were none online, so once I checked in I used Claude to do an inventory of the machines and equipment and create a workout while I sawm some laps. The equipment is all Technogym — premium quality and well maintained. Here's exactly what's available for anyone wondering: **Machines:** Chest press, lat pulldown, leg extension/leg curl combo, dual adjustable pulley cable system (adjustable for upper and lower body — chest press, rows, shoulder press, flies, cable curls, hip abduction and more) **Free weights:** Dumbbells from 4kg to 22kg, kettlebells from 4kg to 20kg, medicine balls **Other:** Adjustable bench, cardio equipment is the usual treadmills and technogym bikes. **Heated pool** around 20m (that's a guess when I stepped it out) also available which I used for laps — excellent for low-impact recovery sessions. There's a dry sauna as well. The space is compact but smartly designed — everything you need for a full upper or lower body session. The Technogym cable machine alone covers a huge range of exercises. I am just a regular gym goer - I guess if you needed really heavy weights or specific equipment you'd get a day pass at a bigger local gym - but for everything I do I was able to get in a good chest and leg day while travelling for work. Would return specifically for the gym facilities. Highly recommended for anyone travelling with a training programme.

We had a fantastic stay at La Meridien Melbourne with our two young kids. From check-in to check-out, everything was so easy. Parking was convenient, the room was spotless, room service was great, and the team organised a cot and extra linen for us without any hassle. Breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of choice. Travelling with young kids isn’t always easy, but the staff made us feel really welcome and everything ran so smoothly. The location is perfect for a city stay and made getting around with the kids really easy. We honestly couldn’t fault our stay and will definitely be choosing La Meridien Melbourne again for our next trip to the city. Highly recommend, especially for families!
