La Madonna Bar is one of Melbourne’s most stylish lounges, offering a spacious setting overlooking Little Collins Street. The rooms and housekeeping here are excellent. The bed was highly comfortable, room service was great, and the cleaning staff did a perfect job every single day without fail. They deserve recognition. However, I want to address hotel management directly regarding your front desk staff and policies. The customer service upon arrival was below average. We received no greeting or acknowledgement, making us feel completely invisible. One receptionist was preoccupied with her phone and intentionally ignored us until we finally approached her. Furthermore, management needs to reconsider your early check-in policy. We booked a 7-day stay at your hotel, and charging loyal, week-long guests an extra fee for arriving a mere 1.5 hours early is incredibly greedy. We paid the fee to avoid waiting around, but it left a terrible impression. For a 7 days booking, management should focus on hospitality instead of nickel-and-diming guests over a short arrival window.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and had a fantastic experience, but this time around, everything was even more exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness of the staff made us feel truly welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. The room was immaculate and beautifully maintained, the gym was spacious and well-equipped, the club happy hour was excellent, and the restaurant served absolutely phenomenal food. Every detail was thoughtfully delivered, making the entire stay incredibly comfortable and memorable. A very special mention to Freddie (not sure if I got his name right, he is the venue manager), whose wine knowledge is truly impressive. His passion, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm for what he does elevated our dining experience to another level. He took the time to recommend wines with great care and insight, and his warm hospitality left a lasting impression on us. Overall, it was an outstanding stay and one that exceeded all our expectations. We will definitely be looking forward to coming back again.

We had an incredible stay at Next Hotel Melbourne, Curio Collection by Hilton and truly can’t say enough great things about the team. After a long road trip from Sydney, Jag made our check-in seamless and stress-free. He walked us through everything from self-parking to breakfast details and membership benefits. The best part was the surprise anniversary upgrade along with a bottle of champagne, which made our stay even more special. The hotel is in a perfect location, with tram stations just a few kilometers away. There’s shopping, food, and entertainment all around, making it super convenient to get anywhere and explore the city. Dining at La Madonna Restaurant & Bar was just as amazing. Emmy was always warm, welcoming, and attentive. She made sure we had great seating, coffee ready, and our food came out hot and delicious every time. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended for two more nights. Haleem went above and beyond to assist with our reservation and made the process effortless. The rooms are nice, clean, and very up to date. The hotel staff is truly amazing I honestly feel like “no” is not in their vocabulary. This team has set the standard high for what a 5-star hotel experience should be. We’re so grateful for the outstanding service and will definitely be back.

Last night was the first night my wife and I had been able to go out since our son was born in December. We combined that with being her birthday dinner. I took her to Next Hotel for a nightcap because I'd received good service in the past. Unhappily, that did not happen here. We stood at the bar on level 3. There were only a handful of patrons in the lounge area. We were totally ignored by the two bar staff - and they actually started serving other people who had come to the bar after us. They then resumed their own personal conversation and polishing glassware without so much as even looking at us. A manager appeared, and I caught his attention - but he immediately looked away and walked off without saying anything or returning. Even as we turned and walked away to leave the bar, the bar staff didn't even look up from polishing glasses. I regret the time that was wasted by taking my wife to Next Hotel - especially as it ate into the short time we had available for a final drink before getting back to bub at home. We will not be returning - and if you value your own time, I'd recommend that anyone considering this venue looks elsewhere.

Stayed here for an anniversary with my wife and daughter, we have stayed in many 5 star hotels in Melbourne over the years for various occasions. The level of service provided at this hotel is a far cry from all of those. The club lounge (where breakfast is also served) is a joke, it's a small depressing room, the service staff were rude and not at all helpful, the food and drink offerings were very limited. You didn't get seated, we had to move our own tables to make up room for us each time, you had to make your own coffee from a pod machine. That's 4 star service at best. The room had no view, it was dark and gloomy, the buildings directly opposite had construction on and left the lights on 24 hours. For the price you pay, you can get much, much better in Melbourne. Would not recommend and will not stay again.
