Great location right near the train station, with lots of good restaurants and cafes nearby. The snug room is properly snug - fine for one person but would be quite a squeeze for two. That said I loved the decor and the lolly jars, and the room was clean and modern. I also liked the offsite gym (they give you a pass for snap fitness around the corner, which is larger than a typical hotel gym).

The staff in the hotel were really nice and very friendly, however upon arrival- after. 5 hour delay at the airport, we were given the wrong room and did not realise until the morning. The staff were very helpful the next day and we were moved to a suite. However, the light switch next to the bed was blu-tacked on and the light settings were incorrectly wired meaning that if you needed the light on in the bathroom- the lights in the bedroom came on. Not ideal for your partner in the middle of the night. Also, the toilet roll was not replenished during room service leaving us with 2 toilet rolls for 3 days. The other downside was the breakfast. A limited menu and of the 3 breakfasts we had there, not one meal was warm, never mind hot. However, the coffee was very good and the staff in the restaurant and bar were excellent. I would therefore only rate this a 3/5 and would not go back.

This is a beautiful "little" hotel. The snug rooms are exactly that. My only criticism is that the 'city view" rooms do not view the city as in Melbourne. They just look out onto south yarra, but then so would the non city view rooms. I will definitely use this hotel again though. Easy train access, super friendly staff, awesome location and lovely lounge bar.

A comfortable stay with soft bedding and designer rooms. Also a very short two minute walk to the South Yarra station which connects you to tram and train services. I enjoyed all the thoughtful touches like the water dispenser in the room and the free lolly bar. I would come here again. The staff are very attentive, you can easily check in or ask questions beforehand and they were kind to us in letting us check in early (9am instead of 2pm) and upgrading us. Thank you ovolo!

Snug room is a good size for one person. Cleanliness leaves something to be desired. Walls were dirty, someone must have dropped a drink, the otherwise was a "mystery stain" (yeah probably "that" kind), headboard stained in section, floor on sides of bed not vacuumed properly, counter near sink had marks from previous tooth brushes/toothpaste that I wiped over and to the credit appeared genuinely unable to be removed. Based on reaction of the staff working when I found the downstairs toilets (x3 of them) with poop stains, no point raising it as very blasé staff and I'm only here a couple nights (I got some dettole wipes). Bin the bathroom is broken, and the shower hose does not work properly. It has the over head shower and a handheld, you cannot get the water to go through the hand held. Bed is uncomfortable, I can feel the springs (only 1 more night, thankfully) Restaurant was okay, vibes were good. Decor is fun and retro. Area is walkable and easy trip to CBD. Laundry is out of order. Probably won't be back as cleanliness and attention to detail is something I value. It's such a shame as this is the first time using this hotel chain, don't think I will again. Staff at check in were lovely and very helpful/friendly.
