I recently attended an event at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre. From the moment I entered, I was struck by the building’s thoughtful design, which combines elements of its historic roots as the Queen Victoria Hospital with modern architectural touches. This blend of past and present creates a space that is both elegant and welcoming. The Centre itself is more than just a venue; it is a hub for women’s empowerment and community engagement. Hosting programs, events, and workshops, it provides a platform for leadership, networking, and advocacy, reflecting Melbourne’s ongoing commitment to supporting women in all sectors of society. During my visit, I experienced firsthand how the Centre’s environment enhances the event experience. The staff were attentive and professional, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. The space fosters connection and reflection, making it an inspiring place to gather, learn, and celebrate achievements. Visiting the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre reminded me that buildings can carry both history and purpose, shaping experiences while symbolizing a community’s values. It is a remarkable example of how architecture, functionality, and mission can converge to create an environment that empowers and inspires.

My first session was about three weeks ago, and I really want to thank Çiğdem. She was incredibly kind with me. it’s usually very hard for me to open up, but the moment I sat with her, her warm eyes and gentle smile made me feel safe. I felt so comfortable with her that I started talking without even realizing it. Even now, when I remember difficult things I’ve been through, I think of her smile, and it comforts me. It also helps knowing that someone out there truly understands what I’ve been through. I’m really happy I got to talk to her the time went by so quickly. I recommend both it as a venue as well as attending their well curated programs throughout the year - especially comedy!
