I held my 30th birthday at the Birmingham Hotel on Saturday night and it was FANTASTIC!!!! I originally booked for the Workshop room but the event managers asked if I wanted to move the party to the Allan Gale room as it was going to be a 40 degree day and they wanted to make sure it was nice and cool for us. The Allan Gale room was beautiful and absolutely perfect!! They put up curtains and set the aircon on all night before the party to make sure it was the perfect temperature, they put my slideshow on all 3 TVs in the room and they drilled my 30th birthday banner into the wall for the background for photos, they put in so much effort for us. They were also so sweet to my 3 year old daughter!!! Everyone was incredibly nice and accommodating, I cannot thank Keely, Emily and the team for the best night ever!!! What a fantastic way to bring in a new chapter of my life. Thank you, The Birmingham Hotel!!!! Please book your next event here, you will not be disappointed!!!!! 😍🥂

We visited the Birmingham Hotel on Parma night and the atmosphere was fantastic — a fun, lively vibe and a great place to be for a casual night out. The Parma night deal is excellent value, which definitely adds to the appeal. I ordered the chicken Parma. While it was good overall, it wasn’t the best one I’ve had. The chicken was very thick, and the balance felt a bit off — there wasn’t quite enough sauce compared to the chicken and ham. It may have been because it was Parma night and the kitchen was busy with so many orders, but it did affect the final result. That said, the experience as a whole was still enjoyable, and I’d absolutely go back on Parma night again for the atmosphere and the value.

The Birmingham is a solid spot in Fitzroy – a decent bar with a good atmosphere that isn’t overly crowded. The space is well laid out with both indoor and outdoor areas, giving it a relaxed vibe that works well for groups or just a casual drink. The $9 pint deal during footy season is great value, and the bar staff are friendly and efficient even when it gets busy. Drinks selection is good, and the venue itself has a classic pub feel with a bit of character. Not the most polished bar in the area, but it doesn’t need to be – it’s a reliable place to grab a drink, enjoy some sport, and hang out without the chaos you sometimes get in Fitzroy. Would happily come back.

Parma was good and would eat again. Unfortunately the beers they have on tap are not to my liking. Focused on the younger crowd and don't have any solid classic beers apart from Carlton draught I guess. Something a little more premium like a premium lager on tap would be much appreciated. Otherwise a solid pub.

Went there with colleagues today for lunch. Had the chicken parma and I definitely rate it. The parma wasnt large as it wasn't flattened. Mine was like 2 chunky fillets of chicken. Cooked to perfection. Moist and tender. Some nice crusty crumbed edges. The ham and sauce was just right. I don't like chips, but the chip planks were the best chips I have had for ages. Chrispy on outside and soft on inside. I even ate the salad which had a nice dressing on it. Will definitely go back for a parma. Highly recommend giving it a go. As it was lunchtime it was busy. So only negative is we had to wait awhile for it. The bar has a good vibe. More the younger Gen Y crowd. Decor good, but not a fan of the several screens with sport on. Some nice background tunes would be good. They also have an outdoor area as well.
