Spacious Lawn at The Penny Black

Off the main Band Room is our semi-private space the Set List Room, with several set lists plastered on our walls to celebrate bands from the past gigs. Perfect for casual occasions, the space can accommodate cocktail style functions as well as holds a large banquette seating perfect for sit down affairs. The sliding windows allow for a cool breeze on a summers day or closed to keep the warmth in. Guests can perch themselves at this window to overlook the deck and beer garden.

This beautifully decorated, dark and moody space features high ceilings, polished floorboards, pillars and a multiuse stage to WOW your guests as is or bring in theming to make the space your very own. With a private bar, DJ booth and working fireplaces (for some Insta-worthy snaps) be the centre stage of your function. The space can be hired exclusively for a more intimate affair or just book a section and be a part of the action. 

Penny's Band Room provides a space to cater to guests with different tastes when they think of a function. Outside is a dedicated beer garden, covered with a marquee, roofing as well as wall awnings, making the space adaptable to Melbourne's everchanging weather. Across the two parts of the venue are interchangeable mixture of furniture including cocktail furniture, picnic tables, fixed wooden booths and tables and chairs and another private bar to get drinks in your guests’ hands fast. Out the back within the beer garden is also A DJ booth, positioned to the side of the space, with a dedicated dancefloor,

With a private entry via one of Brunswick's laneway's in the Penny's Beer Garden - perfect for larger groups. Above is a marquee, roofing as well as wall awnings, making the space adaptable to Melbourne's everchanging weather. Within the space is a mixture of picnic tables, fixed wooden booths and tables and chairs and a private bar to get drinks in your guests’ hands fast. A DJ booth is also positioned to the side of the space with a dedicated dancefloor, speeches can be held on the raised deck above, making it easy for all guests to see. holds a private bar, DJ booth, dancefloor area and raised deck, suited for any speeches throughout the function. Located at the back of the area is also a large TV screen for casual presentations, play your favourite Christmas movie or pop a logo

For more intimate affairs we are able to section an area of the Band Room which is suitable for casual drinking and nibbles.
