Reviews for Zagame's House Carlton
Georgi
After an extensive stay at this hotel, I can confidently say the entire team went far beyond what I expected to make every single day feel welcoming, comfortable, and genuinely like home. Hospitality is easy to promise, but very difficult to deliver consistently at a high level and this team truly exceeded my already high expectations. A very special thank You to Tania, whose professionalism, dedication, composure, kindness, and incredible work ethic did not go unnoticed. She carries herself with a level of care and responsibility that is exceptionally rare to see. No matter the situation, she handled everything with grace, intelligence, and genuine commitment to the guests’ experience. What impressed me even more was seeing her constantly stepping in to solve problems far outside what most people would reasonably expect from someone in her role. A person with her level of dedication should have the proper supporting staff around her, rather than having to personally deal with operational issues that should already be covered. People like Tania are the backbone of places like this, and her efforts deserve both recognition and appreciation. A raise would honestly be very well deserved. On a personal note to Tania: thank You for Your patience, Your kindness, and for always making me feel genuinely welcomed. People rarely forget how someone made them feel, and Your warmth and dedication made this stay memorable in a way that goes beyond hospitality alone! To the entire staff: thank You for Your professionalism and care throughout my stay. You made this experience truly unforgettable. Huge thanks, Georgi from Italy 🇮🇹 P.S. My apologies for posting this review so late. Exceptional people and experiences still deserve to be acknowledged properly, even if delayed.

My husband and I came from rural Victoria to stay in the city for his Christmas work event and we needed something near by to save on travel. We were thrilled with our experience at Zagame's House. The staff were so friendly and helpful on arrival, our room was impressive, very clean and spacious and everything seems to of been thought about and included, that is a rare thing in hotels. We enjoyed the convenient location, the comfortable stay and fresh breakfast before we checked out the following day. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners at check out and this was a delightful exchange of conversation connecting and learning about the passion and history of the business and how it stands out from the rest. The staff, accommodation, food and experience overall was amazing but the men behind this beautiful relaxing retreat speaks volumes how they treat guests. Excellent people with good hearts and souls. Book with no doubt you will have a wonderful time and every cent is worth it. Thank you guys, you are the best in the business and we will be back for sure and you treated us like we mattered! Our stay at Zagame’s House was exceptional from start to finish. The location is unbeatable - just steps from the vibrant Lygon Street dining precinct and within easy reach of the free tram and central attractions. The hotel itself is very well presented, with modern, spotless rooms that are spacious, thoughtfully laid out, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were consistently outstanding: warm, professional, and genuinely eager to help. Special thanks to Tania and Mohir (sp?), who made us feel especially welcome. Every interaction, whether at reception, breakfast, or the Lord Lygon restaurant and wine bar, was marked by friendliness and efficiency. Breakfast was a standout - generous, delicious, and served with the same attentive hospitality that defined the rest of our stay. Amenities throughout the hotel were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was charming, stylish, and inviting. In short, every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. We highly recommend Zagame’s House and will absolutely stay again.

We had a fantastic experience staying in this hotel the café served amazingly delicious food, and the service was also very good. Truly appreciated the neck Support pillow, the speakers, beautiful toiletries and well insulated windows. Location is also excellent. Close to tram lines. Room service menu was extensive.

We came to Melbourne for the F1 with one of our kids (age 5) and really enjoyed staying at Zagame’s house. Previously we’ve stayed more within the CBD but we really enjoyed the slight change of scene! Zagame’s house is easily walkable from free tram stops, the huge Melbourne Central shopping centre and the heart of the CBD. But it was also really cool that it was on Lygon street which really came alive on race night. Full of Supercars and great atmosphere, and a thousand restaurants to choose from. There were also nice shops for young kids like Poppyshop (toy shop) and Readings Kids (kids book shop). There’s also an IGA across the road for all the essentials. It’s a short walk from Melbourne Museum which has a fantastic Children’s gallery that kids under 5 will enjoy for hours. The rooms were lovely…modern and stylish and edgy. Slippers available on request! We were welcomed by truly friendly and personal reception staff like Fiona…it makes such a difference to have a lovely front of house. She took the time to speak to our child. There’s a bar/restaurant on site which makes it super easy. We didn’t eat there but did order a hot chocolate every night which was very nice. We enjoyed the special touches in the room like the Marshall speaker, chocolates in the shape of racing cars and a bag of chippies on the bed. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Our daughter enjoyed the stay so much that when we left, she asked “when can we stay at Zagame’s house again?”. Thanks Zagame’s house for a really lovely family stay. We enjoyed the boutique touch which was pretty special compared to staying at the big chain hotels. Would highly recommend.
