Large, family friendly property only a short drive away from Adelaide. The customer service received from all staff was exceptional. Nothing was too much effort and everyone was genuinely kind, warm and willing to assist. The best service I have received in any Australian property. The property itself was large and spacious. The rooms, ground and facilities were of high standard. The restaurant served delicious food at dinner. It was however on the more expensive side so some may prefer to dine outside the resort in the local town instead. Wonderful stay and would love to return.
Room size is good and location is great for wine lovers. The restaurant wasn't great. We ordered food, but was told they've run out of what we wanted. They charged $120 per person for the New Years Eve BBQ, so we opted for room service. Again, they've run out of food we wanted. Our meals were delivered in cardboard takeaway boxes. We had no proper pasta plates for the pasta and the food was cold. Pillows were way to soft, food from previous guests were still in kitchen drawers. Shower has poor water pressure, The bin is so tiny, only 2 cans fit into it, the kitchenette can do with nicer and more plates, glasses and cutlery. The curtains open in the opposite direction of the ranch slider which doesn't make sense. The room is not sound proof. We heard every person walking past and every noise from the room above. We decided to check out a day early and went to Monarto Safari Resort, which is highly recommended.
Nice place to visit with kids. The pool was nice, but the kids were a bit bored. There needs to be water play or something in the pool area for the kids. Rooms were reasonably clean and the two bedroom apartment was a good size with two young kids. Room service menu was great, as was the buffet breakfast. The view from the main building is lovely. We were there during a heat wave so the aircon in the rooms was great. Good proximity to a lot of great wineries. The gym facilities were good.
I have stayed at Novotel Barossa Valley several times and continue to return because it offers everything I look for in both short and long stays. The facilities, amenities, and range of activities make it easy to relax or stay active, and the staff are consistently exceptional, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely committed to ensuring a wonderful experience. Even after a brief two-day stay, I return home feeling as though I’ve been away for weeks. The resort’s peaceful setting in the heart of the Barossa Valley, surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, wineries, distilleries, and breweries, creates a true sense of escape. The panoramic views from the restaurant are absolutely stunning and add to the overall experience. The food is excellent, with what is easily the best breakfast menu I’ve experienced - fresh, varied, and beautifully prepared. It is also refreshing to see a large organisation like Novotel actively supporting a program that provides essential items for women and children fleeing domestic violence, while raising awareness of this important issue. A beautiful location, outstanding service, great food, and genuine care make this a place I will always return to.
Great hotel in an excellent location. I took our Exec team there in December for one of our quarterly offsites and it was very good value. The hotel team was highly responsive and easy to deal with. All rooms have fantastic views over the Barossa Valley. The boardroom was a little dated (though still perfectly workable), but I’ve heard renovations to the meeting wing are planned for 2026, which should make it even better. For team activities, you’re surrounded by great wineries—Rockford and Peter Lehmann among them—as well as plenty of good restaurants. The hotel restaurant is tasteful and has great views, although the food options don’t quite match what’s available nearby.
