Overall, I would say it was a decent stay. There were a few noticeable discrepancies, however. If you are not staying in the main lodge, there is no Wi-Fi access and very limited mobile reception (at least with Vodafone). Additionally, the bathroom in our room did not match the photos shown online. I assume there are newer or recently renovated rooms available, but I could not find any information indicating this when booking. That said, the staff were lovely. As we were celebrating our anniversary, we were kindly gifted a bottle of wine, which was a thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated. I was also a little disappointed by the spa offering. I had assumed this referred to a shared spa facility available for guests to use, whereas it actually meant a spa bathtub located within the room. In hindsight, that may have been my misunderstanding. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay, but I think expectations depend on paying close attention to the finer details of the accommodation and amenities provided.

We stayed at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were lovely, comfortable and very well equipped, with extremely comfortable beds after long days of hiking. We especially appreciated the excellent coffee machine in the room, along with the fridge, plates and cutlery, which made it easy to prepare food and snacks to take with us for the day. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and the lodge had a relaxed atmosphere that suited the beautiful surroundings perfectly. A great base for exploring Cradle Mountain — we would happily stay again.

The lodge is a great choice for your winter cradle mountain stay! The lodge itself is cozy with fires in each room and two great options for lunch/dinner. We only stayed one night, but would have happily stayed two next time. The spa looks nice, we didn’t get chance to use it and the staff that greeted us were quite rude - it’s worth noting it’s small so it you are on a tight schedule you need to book! The lodge is a 3 minute walk to the rangers bus stop for the national park, super easy and convenient. The walks around the lodge are also really magical, even though it was wet during our trip it didn’t make much difference! We had a spa cabin. The room was fine, but it was basic and some what dated. The fire place fan was cutting out constantly. We would still come back and stay as the pros out weighed the cons!

We loved our stay at Peppers the cabin was cosy, warm and had all we needed as well as a lovely view from our window. We also found the elusive blue funghi on the enchanted walk. Not having wifi and tv was not a problem we used our own data and cast to an iPad for programs. The cradle mountain hikes were sensational we were lucky enough to catch the changing of the fagus. Just spectacular.

There is little doubt that this resort has a fantastic location on the doorstep of a World Heritage National Park. The cabins are carefully placed within the natural landscape and the main 'Pencil pine lodge', with dining room and Tavern have a great atmosphere. However, one significant negative is the cost. We had a 'spa cabin' costing an eye watering $600 per night (including buffet breakfast x2). The room was nice and cosy with balcony, remote controlled gas fireplace, en-suite, 'wet room' at entrance, bar fridge, kettle and teas and coffee stuff, couch and 2 arm chairs. However, water leaked from the bottom of the shower and with heavy rain water dripped from the bathroom light. The dining room is nicely set up, with views and a lovely open fireplace. We didn't have an evening meal there, but the buffet breakfast was adequate if unchanging. The tavern was excellent in all respects; good value, quality food and prompt friendly service ; a nice open space to take a load off and refuel! Generally the staff in the dining room and reception were friendly and helpful, but very young and perhaps lacked the professionalism and experience of this type of establishment (I speculate that management dont pay great wages and this attracts young folk wishing an intereating workplace and why not). Overall a positive experience, but would think twice before shelling out this amount again...although would definitely return to the tavern! PS - Reading many other reviews and responses going back 6 months it is clear many guests were unhappy with either the rooms (for the price) or the service or the food. Yet nothing has changed. It's time management paid attention....
