I’ll start of by talking about how much I love this place. The beautiful pools and the location is just immaculate. Rooms- The room I stayed in accommodated 4 people. The bathroom doors have no noise cancellation so people will most of the time hear your private business. The cabinets in the bathroom were falling apart from being wet. The sofa bed had pubic hairs on it but luckily the cleaners came up to fix it. The fridge was a little dirty as well. Service- Pretty average service. Very friendly cleaners. Location: Right next to a little strip mall, the location is just amazing. The beach is suffering from terrible erosion but that’s just one negative. Overall I would give this an easy 5 stars but it’s just not as good as it used to be.I’ll start of by talking about how much I love this place. We've stayed at the Mantra on Salt a few times, due to its location right on the beach and nearby (walking distance) shops etc. Each stay, we booked the 1bdrm spa apartment with no problems, but our recent stay was a fumble from the beginning. Tried to book via the Accor website, with each session displaying a pop up error and to try again later. Nope... it kept happening, so rang Mantra on Salt direct...only to be left on hold/ waiting for 40 mins!!! Couldn't wait any longer, so rang back the next day... waited another 18mins, only to be told, that the 1 person at the desk was not taking reservations, due to being busy and if i ring back earlier the following day, I can book in then. By this stage, I actually gave up and thought about booking elsewhere, but gave it one last shot. The next day, my call was answered within 10mins with booking details confirmed and all relevant information exchanged. Later that day, we got a call back asking for credit card details again, because they didn't save them initially during the phone booking. Cut to the arrival at Mantra...all went well, check in, parking car etc...but this particular room we had, showed how apartment upkeep / maintenance is sliding. Laminate timber floor, faded, scratched up and warped/ bubbled in places. Kitchen cupboards unhinged, having to lift the door up before trying to get it to close in place. Cutlery draw, lacking bare minimum of utensils for cooking. Bathtub and kitchen sink plugs hover over the drain holes, not sitting in them, therefore lose water whem moved slightly. The bedroom tv has no access to the movie channels that the lounge area TV has, so no late night binge from bed and one bedside lamp didn't work. As I said, we've stayed here several times, so these were noticeables and basic upkeeps. Overall, a good stay ( besides screaming, running kids in the hallways) but for the price per night, we may look elsewhere nearby next time.

This place was the most disappointed I’ve ever been at my accommodation choices. The pricing. Not only was it overpriced for what we received, but there were two different prices listed on Google vs. the hotels website. We paid an additional $75(?) on top of what was advertised on Google. The ‘prestigious’ room itself was tiny and an absolute rort that we paid $350(?) for it. It was a 2 star hotel room at 4 star prices. It was tiny; the sink constantly dripped, the bathroom had (broken) louvers for some reason so you could hear and see everything, the bedsheets were stained, the sliding door was desperately in need of some lubricant, the thin walls made it so I could hear the person next door watching tv, the kettle was disgusting, the towels were paper thin and yellowed. Outside of the room; the elevator was graffitied, the parking lot was filled with debris (about four parking spaces were taken up with old building materials and furniture), the hallways were musty with stained carpet. The beach location was nice, but unfortunately the cyclone did some damage and took away some sand (obviously not a fault here). The staff member I interacted with was very nice, just a bit snobbish. If this hotel was listed as a 2 star hotel and priced itself accordingly, then maybe my review would not be so harsh. Instead though, it’s riding on the coattails of whatever level of luxury it must have had decades(?) ago. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Our room had mould damage and the smell was so awful we requested a room change, they couldn't accommodate us the first night so put us in a smaller room, the sofa bed was not comfortable. Once we got into the new room we found the floors not clean, dead insects and broken Louvres on the windows, additionally the oven didn't work and they had to send a technician to fix it the following day. We were also told it was an upgrade to an ocean view room, which it wasn't aside from the tiniest slither of ocean through the trees (do not pay more for ocean view if that's what you get!). Otherwise the pools were great. Breakfast was in the Pepper's complex not Mantra which was a downside too but the food was very good.

I stayed here on weekdays, and I must say that this is the quietest resort I've been in.. The place felt like a beautiful desert. The staff were limited but were very willing to make my stay as comfortable as possible! The 'hotel room' I stayed in was enough for what I needed: though I had to request for toiletries from reception and you don't get room service. The gym was small and lacking a lot: they didn't have gym towels, dumbbells or yoga mats. This hotel has beautiful pools!! I was fortunate enough to have a swim in their heated tropical pool and hot spa tub. There is a bathhouse next door which was absolutely bliss! The highlights of staying here: The best outdoor hot spa tub that felt like a huge bubble bath! The hotel room had a huge bath which was very important for me.. Bring your pampering bath items to make it special! For what I paid, I'd definitely stay again..maybe a summer visit!
