Reviews for Mantra Pandanas

I only used the restaurant for dinner. The food was very good. The chairs in the dining room leave much to be desired and need to be reupholstered, they are most uncomfortable. The steak I had was very good and cooked to my request. However, it was served on a cold plate so by the time I was at the end of my meal the steak was cold too. A warm plate 🍽️ would improve the quality of my meal. Thanks for a good evening, very good service.

It was very well located. Room was comfortable & very clean. Staff helpful & informative. Great breakfast. Only complaint was that the tea/coffee cups in our room were too small. 2-3 mouthfuls at best.

I’ve been coming to Darwin since 2000 and have stayed at Mantra Pandanas since around 2008. Over the years I’ve stayed in several places around town, but Mantra Pandanas has become my preferred home away from home, and I always seem to come back here. Yes, the building has aged a little over the years, but that’s to be expected. What matters to me is comfort, convenience, and consistency, and Mantra Pandanas has delivered all three for nearly two decades. The apartments are ideal for longer stays. Having a full kitchen, separate bedroom, dining table, workspace, washer and dryer, and plenty of room makes it feel much more like an apartment than a hotel room. For anyone working in Darwin for extended periods, it’s hard to beat. The location is excellent. It’s an easy walk to Mitchell Street and the CBD—close enough to enjoy everything, but far enough away that you’re not listening to the nightlife every evening. Parking has never been an issue, and I’ve always found the front desk staff welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful. Over the years I’ve had the occasional minor issue, such as air conditioning problems or a small leak, but every time I’ve reported something it has been dealt with promptly. Things happen in any property; what matters is how they’re handled, and I’ve always been looked after. Credit where it’s due: the management team and service staff have consistently been responsive and easy to work with. The only recurring annoyance I’ve experienced isn’t really the hotel’s fault. Because the apartments have full kitchens, every now and then a fellow guest appears to lose a battle with a toaster or frying pan and the building fire alarms spring into action. When they do, they are spectacularly loud, particularly at 2 AM. Fortunately, they’re usually false alarms and quickly resolved, but after enough stays I’ve come to accept that the occasional midnight reminder about fire safety is simply part of apartment living. A couple of years ago I experienced some frustrations with the internet provider used by the building, particularly with VPN connectivity. That was more an issue with the ISP than the hotel itself, and I’m pleased to say it appears to have been resolved. On my current stay, my VPN connection has worked flawlessly for two months. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning age, smells, and other issues, but honestly, that simply hasn’t been my experience. After many trips to Darwin and nearly two decades of staying at Mantra Pandanas, I can say without hesitation that it remains my preferred place to stay. Comfortable, convenient, well-managed, and staffed by good people. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else unless they were fully booked. It’s my second home!

To sum it up, never again. -Damp room, -No towels changed for 5 days -Bed smelt from the dampness -wifi incredibly slow (even with the supposed high speed) - restaurant is awful, slow and terrible food -Car park can be difficult to get in to. -Only 5 mins of hot water in the shower - mini fridge defrosted by itself turning my items in the fridge soggy. Will be advising my travel agent to avoid booking anyone else from my company into this hotel.

I stayed at the Mantra Pandanas Darwin a few years ago and I was blown away by the High Quality of this hotel. The Mantra Pandanas stands tall amongst the handful of skyscraper hotels in Darwin. Very large rooms which has a full kitchen, washing machine, dryer, sitting area and balcony. There is also a very large swimming pool on site as well as a top quality restaurant/ cafe on the ground floor.
