Had dinner here with friends who are local. We had a booking but the place was empty when we got there. It was a Tuesday night. The room is bright and provides beautiful views on Elizabeth Quay and the river(just disrupted by some new high rises unfortunately). The menu can be described as modern Asian. We had a few dishes to share as well as cocktails. Cocktails were nice, the food was okay, not really hot though. The beef was nice but lacked a bit of flavour. Service was slow and a bit inexperienced. They attempted to clear plates when we were still eating, it took forever to get their attention to order coffees, but then kind of rushed us out because they needed to set up the room for breakfast service. I wouldn't rush back for the food, but for cocktails on the balcony at sunset.

Beautiful views let's start there. Food was hit and miss. The mango cocktail was lovely - maybe just a place for drinks??? The beef rendang was probably the best part, the broccoli, the snapper, the yakotori skewers and the eggplant was good. What fell short was the rice. It was hard and not okay. One bowl was fluffy and perfect the other was hard proper hard rice so unsure if it was just sitting there for ages. Food portions are not okay when paying $200 plus for food they are quite tiny portions. What really bugged me however was the dessert. We should have stopped there instead of going and paying $18 each per dessert, and the pannacotta was god awful. No "wobble" as there was clearly too much gelatin in there, tasted like eating fermented fetta. Sad part was noone asked about our meals so I couldn't even say anything even if I wanted to! Shame as the views are beautiful- would I go back? - probably not for the price, portion sizes and hit and miss food!

Restaurant is located on the top floor at the Quay Hotel opposite Elizabeth Quay. Venue itself is impressive with a great view of Elizabeth Quay & the Swan River. Took my son here on a Sunday evening for an early dinner & we were seated in the middle of the dining area. When you book maybe worthwhile to request for tables near the windows where you can enjoy more of the fantastic view. My son & I ordered : Pardoo Wagyu Flank Steak, Korean galbi marinade, grilled vegetables, chilli & soy sauce Braised Pork Belly, peppery soy sauce, egg, steamed jasmine rice HQ Chips, truffle, parmesan, herb, aioli We both enjoyed the dishes however they’re nothing to be excited about. Both were nicely presented but tasted rather bland with nothing special to mention. The bill came to just under $120 including a soft drink for my son. Recommended for the view, but unsure if we would go again as food were quite plain. Staff however were welcoming & pleasant.

We celebrated NYE 2025, with a special event New Year’s Eve cocktail party (730-1030pm), with DJ, canapés, flowing drinks. Great location for watching the fireworks at 830pm, and spending time with our friends.

I had a few hiccups on my first visit to HQ, but the manager handled everything professionally and invited me back for a complimentary dinner for two. We tried the Taste of Temptation menu — dishes included Salt & Szechuan Pepper Squid, Edamame, Exmouth Goldband Snapper, Wagyu Flank Steak, Stir-Fried Asian Greens, Yakitori Skewers, Prawn Har Go and Bao Buns. The Squid was the star of the dinner, and almost everything else was fantastic, though the Snapper lacked flavour. With amazing food and much-improved service, I now have a really great view of HQ and would happily recommend it!
