We’d planned a quiet Sunday lunch with some close friends and their children at The Morris, somewhere we visit regularly thanks to the team member discount. To say we made the wrong choice is an understatement. The bar had opened at 7am for the Conor McGregor fight, and by the time we arrived at midday it had been completely taken over by 200+ Irish men trashing the place. We witnessed a fight, a man having his head shaved in the car park, an unholy amount of cocaine being openly taken in the toilets, and a supervisor who clearly isn’t qualified to handle a complaint without arguing. There were multiple apparent breaches of the liquor licence and responsible service of alcohol obligations, yet not a single security guard in sight despite the venue operating extended trading hours. The toilets were flooded, covered in broken glass and empty baggies, there was no toilet paper, and when we used the baby changing station our child asked what the white powder covering it was. By the time staff realised things were out of control, everyone was restricted to one drink per person, including us, despite quietly sitting at a table trying to enjoy lunch. Not long after, the entire venue was cut off following a fight. We reported the blatant cocaine use by dozens of patrons in both the men’s and women’s toilets to two staff members, who apologised but otherwise dismissed it. When we raised the state of the disabled toilet and baby change facilities with Anna, the supervisor, she responded aggressively by asking why we were using the disabled toilet. When we mentioned the lack of toilet paper, the drug use and the condition of the toilets, she dismissed it as “their busiest day of the year.” I’m aware Anna wouldn’t have been responsible for the roster, but that doesn’t excuse the way she handled a legitimate complaint, especially given the circumstances. It’s also ridiculous that things were allowed to get so out of hand when everyone knew well in advance how busy the day was going to be. I appreciate the staff were under pressure, but that’s exactly why adequate security should have been booked, extra staff rostered to manage the venue, intoxicated patrons cut off long before midday, and police contacted as soon as staff became aware of the open drug use.
Grabbed some dinner before a show. The service was fabulous, all staff were great. Sam was super friendly. Got the pumpkin salad with chicken, probably the best version of that I've ever had. The flavour mix was incredible. Friends had burgers, steak sandwiches and the beef ribs and all looked amazing. The ribs just fell off the bone. Bar staff were also lovely. Can't wait to go back and try some more. Left my handbag there and they looked after it behind the bar until I got back. Would've taken a photo of the food but it was too damn good.. Compliments to all!
Went for lunch and it was absolutely incredible. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The food was outstanding - we both had the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection. Everything else we ordered was just as good, but what really stood out was the kids meal. It was so thoughtfully put together - grilled chicken, a hard-boiled egg, tomatoes, mash, a piece of cheese, sultanas, a drink, and even a jelly cup. Honestly, what a feast! Highly recommend this place - definitely worth checking out.
Had a good feed at the morris, we went on a Monday ant midday and it was pretty quiet so food came out quickly and the portions are huge! The croquettes are 10/10 (too hungry so didn't get a photo) we also got the beef burger and parmi. Delicious.
Loved this place, it looked good. Had good vibes, has an area for everyone. We took the kids. Playground is really good, they have water misters setup outside for when it’s too hot. The food was hit and miss. We had the pepperoni pizza and the deli chicken sandwich. The pizza was ok, I thought the base was a bit tough to chew, other than that it was a pepperoni pizza, it is what it is. The sandwich was good, my wife liked it. She commented about the dill being a nice touch. Besides a chewy pizza base, nothing to complain about, and would definitely drop back in.
