Have eaten at the pub on several occasions this was our guest time at Percy's Playground. Went for a birthday lunch on Saturday. I had reserved a table for 9 plus room for a pram. The table was really one for 6 so with 3 children it was a bit of a squeeze. We also had to move the pram when another group arrived next to us. Having said that, the playground is great for kids to explore independently with parents and carers within close distance to keep an eye on them. The drinks selection was good with the food selection quite good. Not as extensive as in the Pub itself but we all found something delicious to eat. The kids meals were fabulous with lots of variety in the plates when they were served. Including fruit, cheese, a drink and choc Freddo. They loved it. Staff were very friendly and whilst the service was a bit slow for half our table, we weren't really bothered. We will definitely return.

I recently held my birthday at the Stirling Arms Hotel (Lounge Bar) and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From the very beginning, the communication so easy, and the team were always accommodating, and genuinely helpful. It made the whole planning process completely stress-free. On the day of the event, the staff were absolutely fantastic. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious—so many of my guests commented on how yummy and plentiful everything was! It was enjoyed by all. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a special occasion! I'm trying to think of another event to have in the beautiful space. **The Balloon setup is from an external provider, that I arranged, but just to show you the beautiful space and what's achievable. Again Stirling Arms where easy to work with arrangements.

Love this place every time I've gone but for mother's Day I will never go again. The waiting time was 60 minutes at 1:00 p.m., shortly after we ordered it changed to 90 minutes, at 2:30 p.m. when we finally got our food the time had changed to 120 minutes. I can only assume they don't have a big enough kitchen or enough staff to be able to serve meals in a timely manner. In my opinion, that's not good enough and you shouldn't really host a mother's Day event or even be open. If you can't handle the amount of clients you will get and will book in to the place. Can you imagine what Gordon Ramsay would say?? Lovely food. Lovely place. Lovely staff but it's just not good enough

We’ve become regulars at the Sterling Arms Hotel & Bar, coming every fortnight for steak night and every week for burger night—and that alone says a lot. The food is consistently excellent, great value, and always hits the mark. Steak night is a standout, and burger night has become a weekly ritual we genuinely look forward to. A big part of what makes this place so special is the team, especially Lenny. We’ve known him for years, and his work ethic and passion for what he does truly set the tone for the whole venue. He’s a brilliant manager—always welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure every visit is a great experience. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both quality food and such a strong, personal level of service every single time. Highly recommend.

Great old pub with atmosphere. Rooms upstairs have been refurbished, very clean comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Discount on food and drinks for house guests a nice bonus. Wood-fired pizza excellent. Friendly, helpful staff. They need a "reception " sign in the bottle shop because that is where it is!
