I recently stayed here during a drive from the Gold Coast to Melbourne and it was exactly what we needed. While it’s about 15 minutes off the Hume Highway, the slight detour is well worth it. The Check-In: We arrived at 2:30 AM, and the after-hours process was seamless. I messaged ahead and received clear instructions that made getting our key effortless. The Room: We stayed in a Terrace Room, which allowed us to park right outside—super convenient for a quick overnight stay. The room was clean, inviting, and featured a massive King-sized bed. The bathroom was a highlight: spacious, spotless, and featured a rainforest shower head with perfect water pressure. While there wasn’t a microwave, all other promised amenities were there, including extra blankets and pillows. Pet Friendly: This is a great spot for "furbabies." The sliding door to the outside area is a nice touch, though a fence would make it even better so pets could roam securely. That said, it’s a very welcoming environment for families with dogs. The Food (A MUST): Do not miss the cafes across the road! 2before10 and Clementine are incredible. I’m a fussy coffee drinker, but their long black was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Their pastries (strawberry tart, raspberry danish, and the Reuben hot pastry) were also 10/10. I’ve already booked the same room for my return trip next week!
Very pleasant stay at Abode Murrumbateman. Large carpark in front of hotel. Courteous reception staff, very helpful with maps, restaurants and wineries. The pantry is a dining room with tables and chairs and an open kitchen, well stocked for cooking and preparing food. There are also frozen meals, snacks, dips, cheese, drinks and wine to purchase. Barista style coffee available too. In room stocked with good brands teas, coffee and hot chocolate. Bathroom facilities with quality soap and shampoo products. Towels were thick and soft. Comfortable beds. Our room also opens to a terrace with easy access to carpark, makes unloading and loading car convenient. Guest laundry available. Gave 4 stars because bikes that were available for guests use were not well maintained. Half the bikes not in working order. Otherwise a lovely stay.
Had a really comfortable stay at Abode Murrumbateman. The rooms are spacious, quiet and well set up, and the beds are genuinely comfortable. Staff were friendly and easy to deal with, and check-in was quick. The espresso coffee downstairs was surprisingly good, which was a nice bonus before heading out for the day. It’s a great base if you’re doing the wineries or heading into Canberra, and it has a relaxed, easy vibe overall. Would happily stay again.
Stayed at Abode Murrumbateman on the way to Melbourne and couldn’t be happier. The property is clean, tidy, and feels brand new. Key collection after hours was simple and well supported, which made arrival stress‑free. Bathrooms are modern and well maintained, adding to the comfort. Great location for a stopover — highly recommend!
Really nice hotel about a 30-minute drive from the centre of Canberra. It’s clean, well maintained, and the staff were super lovely and welcoming. I stayed for one night during a road trip and really enjoyed it. The small details made a big difference — like the fantastic vegan toiletries and the high-quality coffee bags. Plenty of parking spaces available too, though they’re not shaded if that makes any difference to you.
