I had a great experience thanks to Harry and Roselle at reception. They were very welcoming, friendly, and professional from the moment I arrived. They assisted me with everything I needed and made the whole process smooth and comfortable. Their excellent customer service and warm attitude really stood out. Thank you, Harry and Roselle, for being so helpful and accommodating! And We had an amazing dining experience at Onyx Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We ordered the bone marrow, squid ink pasta, and picanha steak, and everything was cooked perfectly. The service was also excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend Onyx Restaurant for anyone looking for great food and a memorable dining experience!

Ok so the good news first. The hotel is in a great location where it’s within walking distance to Burwood and Burwood station. We needed a hotel that wasn’t in the cbd for accessibility reasons and the hotel was perfect for that. Staff were also some of the most professional, courteous and accommodating people I’ve dealt with. Honestly they’re on par with a lot of five star resorts/hotels I’ve stayed at in the past. Now into the bad and I’d describe this as multiple small issues and one big one. There’s no escaping it but this hotel has a mould problem. We discovered mould above our aircon vent on the first night and the staff were extremely apologetic and moved us to another room on night two where we received a room upgrade. It looked mould free however I later noticed that there was more mould in the hallway vent on level 5. Like this can potentially be really bad for guests and I’ve already seen other reviews call this out. The room upgrade was somewhat better as the city views are more quiet than the park view due to the lack of birds outside. Again there were some minor issues such as a very squeaky bed, stains on the sofa and a chair that cleaners probably tried to get out but didn’t really succeed and a semi broken tv that had a blue tinge on everything. I also couldn’t get the chromecast to ever work during that stay but I might be an idiot so *shrug*. All in all if they fix the mould issue and those small problems then I’d stay again.

Enjoyed the 3 day stay with my boyfriend here but a few things need to change. More communication needs to happen between reception and cleaners - they keep on knocking on door when you are trying to sleep in. Payment method - why are we paying in USD in the IHG app - shouldn’t we be paying in Australian dollars? I feel that we are paying more even when paying with points - the hotel isn’t a five star hotel - pricing of rooms should be a bit lower. The cafe has more variety and the restaurant is well lit. Onyx Grill doesn’t have much of a selection and too pricey for the portions they give us. TVs need to have better selection and weird that we can’t even watch Netflix from the TV - needs an upgrade plus you can’t even control the brightness in the settings - I have never seen this type of setup in a hotel anywhere in the world before.

Staff were lovely, views from city view room were epic. There were however quite a number of issues with our stay. Tried to go for a swim, no towels available. Asked lovely bar staff for a towel, stood around waiting for half an hour, barman himself ended going down to get it for us himself. Got into the spa, spa does not work, is heated but all jets are broken. In pool, second rung on ladder to get out is broken, and caused me to slip. TV in room was completely unwatchable, glitched non stop. Bed was comfortable, shower pressure was low, bedside lamp not near beds and was faulty. Air con turns off at night, so it was a hot night, which made me struggle to sleep. Decor of hotel was very nice. Curtains in room were great. Paid for buffet breakfast, and my son & I were really looking forward to it, got to breakfast and was told there was no buffet and you had to order, ordered danishes, they werent even warmed, I ordered toast with eggs, Smoked Salmon & hollandaise sauce, only to be served eggs with bacon & a small peice of smoked salmon. No sauce, no toast & I do not eat red meat but had lots of bacon on my plate. Was certainly not worth the money, being an IHG member I have been to many buffet breakfasts at Crowne Plazas & Intercontinentals, but this was the worst. Poor staff member was on her own, struggling to keep up with orders, they should have served the buffet! Being Easter, they did hand out a Easter gift of lindt chocolates to my son, which was a nice touch. Overall, the staff were friendly & helpful, but our stay was quite disappointing.

We recently held a function at the rooftop bar at Crowne Plaza Burwood and spent a significant amount of money for the event. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing due to the way we were treated by the manager. We felt uncomfortable and unfairly judged throughout the evening, which came across as discriminatory and racist. For a venue that promotes hospitality and inclusiveness, this was extremely upsetting for our guests and family. The rooftop space itself was lovely, but customer service and respectful treatment matter just as much as the venue. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on treating all customers equally and respectfully.
