Different Agency Studios

Different Agency Studios is a distinctive 169 sqm private event and creative space in Alexandria, Sydney — designed for events that call for something more considered than a traditional function room.

Set within a converted industrial-style space, the studio combines high ceilings, abundant natural light, architectural features, curated interiors and a collection of beautifully styled spaces to create an atmosphere that feels modern, intimate and effortlessly cool.

Rather than a blank event hall, the venue has been intentionally designed with character. Guests move through a series of interconnected spaces, each with its own aesthetic and mood — from warm, residential-inspired interiors and textured walls to a dramatic concrete feature wall, fireplace setting, bedroom suite and expansive white cyclorama.

The result is a venue that feels elevated, intimate and highly adaptable, while still retaining the scale needed for a proper event.

Event hire includes access to the full studio and its existing interiors and furniture, allowing organisers to create their preferred layout without starting with a completely empty room. If you do not wish to use selected or all existing furniture, it can be removed prior to your event.

THE SPACE

The studio spans approximately 169 sqm, giving you plenty of room to create distinct areas for guests, dining, drinks, entertainment, presentations or activities.

Large skylights across the main studio bring in an abundance of natural daylight during the day, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. In the evening, the space takes on a more intimate feel and can be transformed with your own lighting, styling, florals, furniture, signage and event installations. Alternatively, we offer complimentary lamps and LED candles with lanterns, which can be placed around the studio at your preference.

The interiors have been deliberately kept versatile, allowing the venue to move seamlessly between different event styles — from polished brand launches and intimate celebrations to private dinners, networking events, workshops, media events and creative activations.

The studio is available for events seven days a week and outside standard business hours, by appointment.

CAPACITY

The studio can comfortably accommodate approximately 40–50 guests, with capacity of up to around 60-80 people depending on the event format and layout.

The flexible layout means the capacity can be configured around the type of event — whether guests are standing and circulating, seated for a presentation, dining, participating in a workshop or moving between different areas of the venue.

LOCATION

Located at 44–54 Botany Road, Alexandria, Different Agency Studios sits within one of Sydney's most accessible innercity creative precincts.

The studio is located on Level 3 and has lift access directly through the building, making bump-in and bump-out considerably easier for event organisers bringing in equipment, styling or installations.

There are two onsite parking spaces, with additional street parking available nearby. Waterloo Metro is less than a two-minute walk away, while Redfern Station is approximately an eight-minute walk from the studio.

The venue already has a strong visual identity — textured walls, curated furniture, architectural features, warm interiors, natural light and multiple distinct spaces — so your event can feel polished from the moment guests walk through the door.

At the same time, the studio is intentionally flexible. Furniture can be moved, additional styling can be introduced and the different areas can be configured around the way you want your event to flow.
