Easily one of my favourite places to hang out or eat at. Makes you feel like Aragorn, sitting in the corner of a medieval tavern 😝. Not only is the food excellent, the activities they host during the week are a lot of fun and a great way to introduce yourself into some of the different table top options. Gaming area is also very affordable and a great wind down. Dungeon & Flagons is alot of fun! Thanks to Jay for his work DM-ing

Dragons and flagons was amazing! leash is an absolute legend. Made our experience easy to follow as beginners but not as though we were absolute noobs and didn’t know anything. Absolutely loved it! Highly recommend!

Booked a D&D one shot at the Dungeons and Flagons event with a group of friends - it was fantastic! Our assigned GM Rish was incredible, so friendly and patient and an amazing story teller. Made us all feel welcome from the moment we sat down. He even gave great recommendations to help us pick out another board game after our session was over. Really exceeded my expectations and was a great way for our forever-DM friend to join a session as a player.

She was fantastic and made everything really fun and easy to get into, especially since we were all complete beginners. The whole experience was way more entertaining than we expected and the atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend 😊

I recently visited Fortress in Sydney and had a great time. The food was a highlight - I enjoyed chips with gravy and melted halloumi (see photo), and the bar offered a unique drink menu (I tried a 'potion' shot; sorry don't have a photo of the shot as already drunk it). The atmosphere was chill and inclusive, with a cosy ambiance in the table area near the bar. The dim lighting, lanterns, and lack of harsh lights made it a comfortable space for those who prefer quieter environments. Fortress offers a range of activities, including board games, card games, and video games in bookable booths. I purchased a day pass and was impressed by the variety of rare games available. The monthly membership option also caught my eye, and I might consider signing up in the future. While I enjoyed my experience, I'd suggest wearing noise-cancelling headphones, as the space can get loud. Additionally, be mindful of your budget, as food and drinks at the bar can add up (especially for students!). The food and gaming areas are combined, so be careful not to spill drinks. What I appreciated most was the sense of community - most patrons were engaging with each other, playing games, and putting away their devices. As someone who struggles to socialise outside of home, I found Fortress to be a welcoming and neurodivergent-friendly space. It's conveniently located near public transport in Chippendale, and offers a unique alternative to gaming at home. I'd definitely recommend it!
