Reviews for Harbour Rocks Hotel

A fantastic hotel with a couple of beawares. Location was perfect. We just finished our stay of the nights and we walked everywhere except back from dinner when it rained. Close to three opera house, the warf, dining and shops. Service was fine. Watch out one no elevators. I'm good there is a busboy, but I ended up carrying our luggage up and down the stairs. Watcheout two, rings are very large, bathrooms aren't much bigger than three pines on airplanes. Lastly bad luck for us, chef didn't show yesterday, so while breakfast was included, we had to go off site for that and pay. Great place, clean, large rings, great location.

Amazing location, but rooms are a bit outdated The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect, right in The Rocks, super charming, and only a 2-minute walk to the harbour between the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Truly incredible. The hotel itself is clean and has a cute, cozy atmosphere. However, the rooms (including the bathrooms) are quite old. Our safe didn’t work and was never fixed — I have the feeling it has been a long-standing issue that nobody takes care of, just like the broken air conditioning. You definitely pay for the location, and while it is worth it for the views and convenience, the hotel could really use some maintenance.

Either save your money and stay at a cheaper place with cleaner amenities or spend a bit more and stay at a nicer place. The bad review is primarily because of the room. It was in a terrible state. The air conditioner was covered in dust or mould and didn’t even blow any cold air out. The carpet was quite dirty. The comforter was very yellow between the sheets. The bathroom window was only frosted on the bottom half and didn’t provide privacy from a few buildings. The sink was leaking constantly no matter where the knob was. The service was average, neither very good nor very bad. The location is ideal, being situated in the Rocks.

Fantastic location for everything you need and want to see as a tourist. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms outdated. Bed too small for a couple and super soft. Changed rooms due to buzzing old air conditioning. Next room it barely worked. Old plumbing makes toilets squeak. Construction started next to our room early in the morning. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re a light sleeper.

Great location. Very small room at a very excessive price (NZ$ 2,500 for the New Years evening!!) Other nights were $650 but even at that, too pricey for the room quality/ size. Breakfast was very good. There was no view from our basement room! I can't recommend this hotel, even though the location is convenient to the Circle Quay and George Street restaurants.
