I want to take a moment to recognize Sotiana at the front desk because she made my stay at the Hyatt Regency Sydney genuinely special. She was the first person I interacted with when I arrived, and her warmth and kindness immediately put me at ease. She didn’t just check me in. She actually took time with me, talked with me, helped me figure out a few things I needed for the day, and made me feel like I wasn’t just another guest passing through. What really stayed with me was how willing she was to help in ways she absolutely didn’t have to. She even helped me with my bags when she saw I was juggling a few things. It wasn’t dramatic or showy, just this quiet, thoughtful gesture that told me she loves the work she does and takes pride in taking care of people. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and you don’t meet many people like that. I hope management sees what an incredible employee they have in her. She’s warm, grounded, attentive, and brings a level of care that elevates the whole guest experience. If anyone deserves recognition or growth here, it’s her. She made my stay better in a very real way. I love this Hyatt location and will make a point to come back.

Wonderful location. Near many Sydney’s tourist attractions! Walkable through out the city! Some rooms are with great Darling harbor views! Great breakfast, but can be crowded after 9:00AM! Many dinning options inside the hotel or around the hotel! Great staff also. Well trained and knowledgeable!

We stayed at Hyatt Regency Sydney during the Christmas and New Year period of 2025 and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is perfectly located, right in the heart of Sydney, with easy access to Darling Harbour and many of the city’s main attractions. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent, everything was spotless and very well maintained. The breakfast buffet deserves a special mention. The variety, quality and presentation were outstanding, with options for all tastes and a great start to every day. What truly made the difference, however, was the staff. From check-in to check-out, every member of the team was consistently friendly, professional and genuinely helpful. Their attention and positive attitude really enhanced our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hyatt Regency Sydney and would happily stay here again on a future visit. Highly recommended.

Lovely breakfast buffet with an impressive range of options, beautifully presented and thoughtfully curated. The cold selection included fresh, ripe fruit, quality cold meats, cheeses, pastries and yoghurts. All replenished regularly and tasting incredibly fresh. The hot-food section offered plenty of choice, and the made-to-order egg station was a standout touch, with dishes prepared perfectly and served promptly. There was even a small lunch-style selection available, which added an unexpected level of variety and made the experience. Overall, a refined and relaxing way to start the day.

How this Hotel has a 5 Star rating confounds me. It’s at best a 4 Star but it’s dated and old room fittings is dragging it close to being a 3 Star property. It’s only real plus is it’s view on to Darling Harbour. The Zephyr Bar also is a plus but it can be hard to get a booking there in the evening. At almost 900 rooms it is a “stack ‘em high and drive revenue” operation. The Smallest room in a 5 star I’ve had ever. Also minimal closet space for clothes meant that we had to move furniture around and work out of our suitcases on the floor for our entire stay. Open the metal door at the side of the closet to reveal mini bar and small tea making space… wow a 5 star hotel with a kettle and sachets of powdered coffee?? What about a Nespresso machine? Also not even a complimentary guest bottle of water (another 1st!). Annoyingly at check-in it was mentioned that wi-Fi was down but try again later. It was on and off throughout our stay. The constant checking in/out of Airline crews at front reception said it all - this is more of a stopover , suitable for one night stays for those travelling on business / commercial purposes. I visited the Shangri-La Hotel to meet friends and there was no comparison.
